I completely forgot about the method to draw petals / multiple leaves by drawing them inside a circle. I started using it from the third plant. For the unknown rose, I had some troubles figuring out how to construct the flower itself (since constructin every single petal from top to botto would be a total mess), then I decided to build the cylinder as usual, then drawing the outermost petals. After that I constructed the rest of the petals starting from a central axis and giving priority to those closer to the viewer and working toward the external border until the form is filled.

I also realized that I made some size errors, like the leaves in the last image that are way smaller than the reference, or the corn cobs that are positioned too far from each other.

I couldn't find the names of the last 2 plants, the photos were in the channel sticky.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
