Hi everyone, this is my work for lesson 2. I realized in between the drawing process, I made a lot of mistakes. My fineliner pen ran out of ink after 250 boxes, so I had to do the arrows exercise in pencil and I'm really sorry about that. Through the dissections exercise I also failed to do justice to the curvature of the sausage forms, and have the texture wrap around it the way it would depict its under a definite light source, I made the mistake of seeing the video attachment for the exercise only after I had finished majority of the two pages of my dissections, and missed the cue to do it.

Form intersections was by far the toughest for me to grasp conceptually and it seems my understanding of how to demarcate the intersecting surfaces of the two interlinked 3d figures lacks much thought in my initial attempts.

I also took feedback for my texture analysis on discord and was told that the black shadowy rectangle didn't seemlessly blend into the high density shadow regions.

All this I've made a mental note of and wanted mention here. Thanks, and looking forward to any further critique, I can work towards!

While I have a massive library of non-instructional art books I've collected over the years, there's only a handful that are actually important to me. This is one of them - so much so that I jammed my copy into my overstuffed backpack when flying back from my parents' house just so I could have it at my apartment. My back's been sore for a week.

The reason I hold this book in such high esteem is because of how it puts the relatively new field of game art into perspective, showing how concept art really just started off as crude sketches intended to communicate ideas to storytellers, designers and 3D modelers. How all of this focus on beautiful illustrations is really secondary to the core of a concept artist's job. A real eye-opener.
