Everything looks really good!!

• Your superimposed lines look great; a couple are arched but definitely not something to worry about, and you did a really good job placing the pen carefully at the begining

• There is a bit of wobbling in your ghosted lines, like you tried to correct instead of committing to the line even if you were going to be off a little bit. (However, you seemed to have mostly resolved this by the ghosted planes exercise, so congrats)

• I don't really have a comment on your tables of ellipses; some of them are coming out of the bounds/overlapping but that's normal

• You did a really good job on your ellipses in planes-- the majority are properly touching the edges of your planes and the "draw through" looks pretty consistent (you don't have a bunch of stray lines, and it looks like you ghosted really well). It looks like most all of them are only drawn through twice, but I don't think that's a problem

• Again, your ellipses look great, the funnels are pretty symmetrical. You have a few not touching the bounds, but you'll get better with practice

• Your plotted perspective is exceptional (if I remember correctly we used a ruler for this part, but still, fabulous job, the lines are all very even and there's no overshooting)

• For your rough perspective, it looks like you had some trouble with shaky lines again, like in the ghosted lines exercise, so you might want to practice some more ghosted lines, maybe watch the video again, just to get a feel for committing to the straight line even if you aren't going to hit your intended end point. You did have some wonkiness in perspective, but that's to be expected at this stage.

• Rotated boxes looks good-- the boxes appear to be rotating and the hatching is neat and orderly

• And finally, it looks like you understood the organic perspective really well. Your boxes shrink appropriately as you go back. You have some perspective issues, but as that wasn't the major concern for that exercise and this is lesson 1 it's not super important. You did repeat/redraw some of your lines to correct them, so try to stop your self from doing that in the future.

Next Steps:

I think you're fine to move on to the 250 box exercise! Congratulations and have fun!

Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
