Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes
4:07 PM, Saturday March 11th 2023
First time doing DrawABox! I’ve been lookibg for an online drawing course like this so I’m super stoked to get started on my fundamentals journey!
yo,
Lines:
Superimposed Lines - not sure where is the beginning of the lines.
Check this link https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/9/fraying
Ghosted Lines - you were doing them to slow which make them unstable and wavy. Same for ghosting planes.
Ellipes:
table of ellipses - you've forgotten about the table. It was an indicator of how big your ellipsis should be. What's more You should do it with ghosting method.
Ellipses in planes should be done with ghosting method.
Funnels, looks good imo.
Boxes:
In Plotted Perspective you've underlined lines unnecessarily. It's makes your boxes looks messy.
(btw it's not a part of the course but when you are doing hatching, you should make marks only in one direction, avoid waves like in middle box of third attempt to exercise)
In Rough Perspective, lines that you are doing with your ruler should overlap freehand lines. Thats the main point of the exercise. Again unnecesary underlines.
Rotating Boxes - you should watch (or/and read) the whole lesson one more time (at least) and get familiar with this link
https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/17/rotation
Organic Perspective - Your boxes were not done with ghosting method. But they are rotating and growing properly ( i think )
Check this 3 sections

Next Steps:
I think the following exercises should be done one more time:
Elispes in Planes/Ghosted Planes
Tables of Elipses
Rough Perspective
Rotating Boxes
Right from when students hit the 50% rule early on in Lesson 0, they ask the same question - "What am I supposed to draw?"
It's not magic. We're made to think that when someone just whips off interesting things to draw, that they're gifted in a way that we are not. The problem isn't that we don't have ideas - it's that the ideas we have are so vague, they feel like nothing at all. In this course, we're going to look at how we can explore, pursue, and develop those fuzzy notions into something more concrete.
