Here's my 250 boxes submission. For some reason, blue blotches are on some scans and I don't know what that's about. I apologize for both that and the fact that the images are out of order. I tried a bunch of times but I can't seem to upload them individually without my browser crashing but uploading in bulk causes rearangement.

Hi Xulu, I've checked your submission,

I can see that you made good progress through the challenge, your boxes got more confident and you got better at converging! Though, there is still some things here and there were you can improve.

Starting off, I'm seeing you are having issues with the back corner, welcome to the club! Check this construction method next time you are warming up with some boxes, it will help you out.

One thing that I'm noticing is that you haven't applied any line weight during the challenge. Line weight is not an aesthetic choice from this course, is a tool we use to communicate things both to the viewer and to ourselves to reinforce the illusion od depth- In this case we highlight the silhouette using a single super imposed line, so it's easier for the viewer to understand the orientation of the viewer, it's also a great practice for making confident marks, since you need to ghost them just like a regular line on this course!

Don't forget about line weight and it's uses moving on to future lessons!

So, during the challenge, the size o your boxes got a little bigger, though I would like to see them bigger- When we draw bigger, we have more room to use our shoulder on our lines, while also making it easier for our brain to engage on spatial problems! So, try to draw as big as you can on future lesson, especially on the construction ones (lesson 3 and up)

Lastly, I know what you mean about igmur doing whatever it wants, though there is a tool to re arrange pictures on it, it takes time, but remember that the easier you make it for the one critiquing your work, the most things it will be able to take from that submission!

Now, I'm gonna mark this lesson as completed! Keep it up.

Next Steps:

Feel free too move on to lesso 2!

This community member feels the lesson should be marked as complete. In order for the student to receive their completion badge, this critique will need 2 agreements from other members of the community.

Thank you so much for taking the time to critique the submission (and especially for the construction method link!)!

I'll take everything to heart for future lessons!

Also, I'll mention this in case you find someone with similar issues: the problem I had with Imgur is that rearranging (and other things) caused my browser to crash. I was using Safari but apparently it's not a good browser for the site and most issues can be solved by clearing the cache.

Anyway, thanks again and keep up the good work!

Ohh, now I see why you couldn't rearrange anything, then sorry for scolding you for no reason :D!

Also, I'm glad you found my critique useful!

No need to apologize at all!

Thank you and take care!

PureRef

PureRef

This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.

When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.

Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
