Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes
6:15 AM, Wednesday March 11th 2020
This's my first time posting here and looking for feedback. There's a bit of a gap between when I did these exercises and when I'm posting them. Now that I've got my account setup here, I'll make sure I post them at the end of each lesson or challenge. I'm looking forward to getting back on with DrawABox, so thanks for taking a look + for any advice given : )
I've made a few comments in the album, but I'll copy+paste them here too for reference.
------------------**
Funnels - Part 1. I spread the funnels exercise across two pages. I drew them a bit big and only fit 6 on the first page, so I did one more page to reach the number drawn in the example.
Rotated Boxes - Part One. This was my first attempt at the rotated boxes exercise, but I wasn't happy with it. I knew I could do a better job of it and gave it another go the next day.
Rotated Boxes - Part 2. Second attempt. Still very flawed of course, but I learned a lot more from it this time around. I was struggling to find where the vanishing points should go at first, but by the end of it I feel like I had the gist of it down. At the very least, it's an improvement over the first attempt.
Organic Perspective Pg. 1. I definitely had some trouble with foreshortening here. I still wasn't sure where to be visualising the vanishing points at first. The far bottom right box here is probably the clearest example. I think I had the two 'closer' horizontal lines converging too steeply. The vanishing point would have been only a centimeter or two away from the boxes edge. By the end of the next page I had it down a bit better, but I need more work at this for sure. 250 box challenge should help sort that out. : )
