Hello!

So I'll be reviewing your homework for lesson 1.

Your superimposed lines look good. The lines look confident and aren't wobbly. The same for ghosted lines and planes. Good work on those!

For the table of ellipses, some of the ellipses look a little wobbly but overall the ellipses are snuggly and you've drawn through them. For the ellipses in planes, some of the ellipses look a little deformed and are not touching all sides.

For the funnels however, the ellipses do not align on the minor axis and so i'd suggest reading this

Plotted perspective looks good. For rough perspective first page, you havent been using the ghosting method well and so your lines have become a little wobbly. Also draw just one confident line instead of multiple lines.

The rotated boxes and Organic perspective look good. Just keep in mind that its alright to draw wrong lines here. The important part is confidence. If a line is wrong, it's wrong. Dont try to go ahead and fix it.

Overall good job!

Next Steps:

I'd like to see one page of funnels. And then you can proceed ahead!

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

I would recommend making lighter lines when plotting back to the vanishing points for the plotted perspective exercise, and then going over the box with a heavier weight to make it darker. It'll help you keep better track of what you're doing. Great job on the rotated boxes, it looks dope!

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
