Hi there!

Firstly, good job for finishing lesson 1! No matter how satisfied or unsatisfied you are with the results, you keep going and manage to get to the end of this lesson! :)

Here are some points worth noting:

  1. Superimposed Lines: You did great! You took your time to place your pen carefully, fraying only happens on one edge of the lines, furthermore you prioritize confidence over accuracy which is seen from slightly arcing lines.

  2. Ghosted Lines: Well done! It is clear to me that you plot each dot, as well as taking your time in order to execute the line as confident and precise as possible.

  3. Ghosted Planes: You are actually doing very nice in this homework! Unfortunately, I spotted that you used a liquid tip-ex to cover a line which is quite off. Mistakes including very off lines are not a shame! It is totally fine to have them even if you do them considerably often, as they are there to remind you what you did wrong so you can improve next.

  4. Ghosted Ellipses: I'm not sure if they were initially undershoot ellipses or not , but they are great, both in confidence and accuracy! Even so, it is important to note that ideally you should be redrawing your ellipses for 3 times at most.

  5. Table of Ellipses: Very neat and solid! You manage to get the ellipses fitting in the table, whilst keeping them constant in each frame.

  6. Funnels: Greatly done with fitting and tightly placed ellipses! The size of the ellipses is increasing as the funnel goes wider, as expected.

  7. Plotted Perspective: Nothing much to say, neat work!

  8. Rough Perspective: Fine work! Some lines did wobble, but they are completely fine! Your estimation also gets better with each frame, good job!

  9. Rotated Boxes: Very neat and great job! Each quadrant is averagely equal, showing that you clearly have a good understanding about how the boxes should rotate accordingly.

  10. Organic Perspective: Last but not least, you demonstrated a good work as well. However, it seems that you tend to draw boxes with the same direction (mainly boxes with horizontal side planes facing the viewer more). Try to add variations to your Y directions!

Next Steps:

Proceed to 250 box challenge whilst keeping in mind to add variative Ys of your boxes, goodluck!

I feel very grateful to see your criticism, I will write it in a notebook so as not to forget it, before doing any exercise or drawing I will try to improve what you told me.

Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens

Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
