Hi,

this is my first attempt of everything, except the table of ellipses. I did another page of them before but it was impaginated badly, I had realized single long stripes instead of splitting each stripe in half.

The exercises have been done over a month or so of time. In the last part I think I took a bad way of ghosting. I ghosted oscillating back and forth instead of confident ghosting, pause to reposition, confident ghosting, etc... This led to some terrible lines. Paired with a loss of confidence at the rough perspective part, I believe. I'm kind of ashamed of the rotated boxes, I hope they are going to be good enough, I tried, I really did.

I think I realized my bad ghosting habit midway through the first page of organic perspective. Hopefully I fixed it.

Hey Malabrace,

Good job, these are my thoughs:

Superimposed Lines Lines are fraying. These will be important later when adding line weight.

Ghosted lines a bit wobbly, remember to draw from your shoulder and ghost each line enough times until you are ready. Also don't forget to adjust the page by rotating it to your favorite angle. This will help you improve faster. Keep this in mind for the 250 boxes challenge.

Table of Ellipses your ellipses are decent, overall a good performance.

Ellipses in Planes your line quality got a bit better, but remember to rotate the page. Your accuracy on the ellipses in excellent, they are also drawn confidently. Good job.

Funnels Not as good as your circles in the previous exercise but certainly good enough.

rough perspective is pretty good. lines are plotted nicely, but again keep in mind to take your time ghosting before commiting to a line.

Rotated Boxes You didn't plan it out well enough, so there are some visible problems with the perspective. For example the upper boxes are longer than the central one, this should be opposite. Line work needs practice. No shading or line weight, but I think it was optional. Rotation is good though, shows you understood the exercise.

Next Steps:

250 Boxes. do 5-10 minutes of ghosted lines before you start drawing. This will help you stay consistent.

Thank you for the critique.

I have been foolish enough to attempt the superimposed lines when my eyes were tired (I have a problem with my eyes that makes them weaker than normal)

I also had a time where I ghosted lines better. Then I took the bad habit of doing the "back and forth" motion instead of ghost, reposition, ghost, reposition. I got a bit better recently, but maybe it's still a bit wobbly. You can see in the organic perspective exercise.

Right now I'm doing ellipses in planes, superimposed and rough perspective as a warmup most of the time. (I didn't do any warmup until the organic perspective excercise because I didn't think about it and I didn't register that was a thing I was supposed to do from reading lesson 0 and 1). But seeing that ghosting is my weak point, I'll give it much more attention.

Also I find it helpful to find one setting (right angle of the page, position of the arm that allows me to draw from the shoulder) that just feels right. Maybe also finding a way to draw on a tilted surface...

Maybe this would be for you as when you get accustomed to a good setting you will be steadily improving instead of always having to sorta "start from the beginning"

Lines

For the first exercise I think you struggled to have confident line and I think you may have tried to perform the strokes slowly rather than with a confident flowing stroke , but you did take your time perform the super imposed lines without fraying so that is good to see.

For the ghosted lines exercise I see that you have tried to be creative within the exercise which is good to see that you enjoying (read lesson zero ), however it would be best if you refrain from doing so and focus all your attention on performing the task to the best of your ability.(wobbly strokes were also visible here)

For the final exercise it is good to see that you filled all the space within your page the same problem as with the prior exercises.

My suggestion would be you read lesson zero then go to the pages explaining each exercise and redo the three exercises make sure you read through the text thoroughly before redoing the tasks and watch the videos too, maybe also read the using your arm section as well.

Next Steps:

Redo the lines exercises everything else I would say is well done but keep coming back as to not forget them add them to your warm up.(Stress more on the line warm ups)

After this the 250 box challenge would be a good next step. Keep up the hard work!
