Hello and congrats on completing lesson one. I'll be taking a look at your submission today. Starting with your superimposed lines these are off to a fine start. You are keeping a clearly defined starting point with all of your wavering on the opposite end. Your ghosted lines and planes turned out pretty good. You were definitely running into some issues with wobble on your ghosted lines and some of your planes. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/9/wobbling This is likely happening because you are a little too concerned with accuracy and are slowing down your stroke to compensate. I think you are definitely showing improvment though as you worked through these pages and your lines are getting more consistent confident. Make sure you keep ghosting and drawing from your shoulder.

Your tables of ellipses are coming along quite well. You are doing a good job drawing through your ellipses and focusing on consistent smooth ellipse shapes. Unfortunately you are starting to deform your ellipses a bit more with the ellipses in planes. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/12/deformed While this isn't a huge problem for you it is noticeable enough for me to bring it up. Once again I think it's mainly an issue of being too concerned with accuracy and slowing down your stroke to compensate. Accuracy is our end goal but it can't really be forced and tends to come with mileage and consistent practice more than anything else. Your ellipses in funnels look fine I'm not seeing any real problems here. One thing you could have tried is to start with a narrower ellipse in the center and then widening the degrees of the ellipses as they move outwards in the funnels. Your ellipses are off to a great start and I'm not seeing any real bad habits forming just keep what I said in mind about worrying too much about accuracy.

The plotted perspective looks great nothing to mention here. Your rough perspective boxes turned out quite well. You did a great job keeping up with the confident linework on these. You also did a good job extending the lines back on your boxes to check your work. As you can see some of your perspective estimations were a bit off but this will become more intuitive with practice.

Your rotated box exercise turned out pretty well. You did a good job drawing through your boxes and keeping your gaps narrow and consistent. You are not quite handling your rotations correctly and you even appeared to give up on the corners which is perfectly fine given the difficulty of this exercise. In some cases as well like the left side you really weren't rotating your boxes instead you were simply drawing them moving back in perspective. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/16/notrotating This is a great exercise to come back to in a few lessons to see how much your spatial thinking ability has improved. Your organic perspective boxes turned good for the most part. You seem to be quite comfortable using the ghosting method and drawing from your shoulder for confident linework which is great. Your box constructions on the whole are pretty good but there are some wonky ones in theres still so the 250 box challenge will be a great next step for you.

Overall this was a really well done submission that showed some real growth especially in terms of line quality and confidence. I think you are understanding most of the concepts these lessons are trying to convey very well. I'm going to mark this as complete and good luck with the 250 box challenge. Keep up the good work!

Hi,

I need to confess I straight up forgott to draw the boxes on the rotated box exercise, ups...

For the Ghosting Methode I want to draw faster and so I am trying to draw without the dots, but I still use it for Warm ups or if I am confused.

And Thanks for the Feedback :D

Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
