Overwhelmed and the 50% rule

I've been paying/donating for the DrawABox Patreon from the beginning in hopes that it would encourage me to complete the courses since it's costing me money, right? I work full time, have kids, dogs and other things going on so I'm not always able to dedicate a lot of time to doing the lessons. With the 50% rule, I should be drawing "for fun" just as much as for the lessons. Putting it into perspective, I sometimes took an hour to draw 5 boxes with interruptions and other things. Trying to find an hour to draw for fun is difficult, but when I do find the time, it tends to be more frustrating as I can't draw what I want. E.g. Let's say I want to draw a character kicking a ball. I can't visualize it, so I need references, but I haven't studied anatomy so without copying the images I'm looking at I can't really create my own drawings. At this point I'm just copying someone else and not really drawing? I've been stuck on Lesson 2 for months. I go to do my warm-ups for 10-15 minutes and then get interrupted by something and don't draw, sometimes I can't get back to it for a few hours. So I go back to doing the warm-ups and sometimes get interrupted again and get frustrated so I put it down, only to repeat the process a day or two later.
I'm not sure how I can draw for fun when I'm not happy with the outcome or when I'm even having trouble visualizing anything to put down on paper. I guess I kind of feel like this is a catch-22 because I'll be able to draw for fun when I can draw. Any suggestions on getting past this frustration?
