Hi Missfit!

I will try my best to give you some good critique. First of all, from your homework it seems to me you have understood all the lessons and you have followed the steps.

Your ellipses look right. In the funnels some of them are less symmetrical. But then other funnels do look symmetrical so maybe just keep the symmetry in mind :)

Also the plotted and rough persoective look right.

What I think you can practice more are your lines. Your lines look wobbly through the excercises so you can practice the ghosting method some more and focus on getting the lines more confident and straighter.

Kind regards,

Cristina

Next Steps:

2 more pages of ghosted lines. Focus on the ghosting step and getting the line confident and straight. Be sure to use your shoulder when drawing.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Thank you, yes i struggled with keeping the lines non wobbly, I think my hand just shakes a bit. I'll keep at it, thanks for your feedback.

I found the rotated box exercise the most difficult.

my critique was too harsh and Crissyps said it better.I've chosen to agree with her critique instead. I'm new to critiqueing, and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to rewrite this but here we are.

Next Steps:

do another page of ghosted lines.Do a new table of ellipses.Do the funnel page again.go back and draw through your boxes.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
