Lesson 2: Contour Lines, Texture and Construction

I was never good with drawing in 3D, but I gave it my best shot. How did I do?
I think you did pretty good overall. However there are some things I'd like to point out
-Your intersecition homeworks look a bit flat, I must say. I think this comes from the line quality - some of the lines are wobbly therefore they break the illusion. Draw confident lines from your shoulder, even the small lines for boxes. Also you're drawing over your ellipses way too many times. 2-3 times is enough, more will make your drawings look messy.
-I think you did a good job putting textures on organic forms. You could add dense areas to the edges of the forms, and always put textures parallel to the contour lines. Also you're prone to making closed shapes for textures, instead put lines where the texture would cast a shadow.
-You could've alligned your ellipses better in organic forms with contours homework.
-One last minor thing, your cast shadows could be more fluid, they kinda stick out. Let the shadow follow the surface of the form underneath.
Other than that, I think you're good to go. If you haven't done 250 box challenge, I suggest you to do that next. If you have, feel free to move on with the third lesson. Keep up the good work!!
Next Steps:
Be confident with your lines. Wrap textures and shadows around. Draw shadows for texture, not full shapes. And enjoy!
A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.
In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
