5:38 AM, Thursday January 13th 2022
The first 3 pages were done in ballpoint on sketchbook paper. Everything after that is fineliners on printer paper.
Lines
Superimposed lines:
+Overall good,no visible fraying on the starting point
Ghosted lines:
+Acceptable, tho visible wobbling are pretty apparent.
=> Lines are still pretty wobbly
Ellipses
Ellipses in planes:
+Good confident ellipses and the ghosting for the border planes are also much better than before
Ellipses table:
+Same as before,solid ellipses shape
Funnels:
+Good job keeping them snugly inside the frame.
+For future warm ups,try and vary the degrees of the ellipses
=> Overall good ellipses, they look solid and confident and your line quality have improved
Boxes
Rough perspective:
+Nicely done, you followed all the instruction
Rotated box + Organic perspective:
+Good job on pushing through these exercise.
Pro tip: Draw bigger,it'll give you more spaces to play around for exercises like these and make ghosting lines much easier
=> Overall solid
Next Steps:
+Continue practicing your lines
Move on to the 250 box challenge
A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.
In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
