Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes
1:34 PM, Friday October 7th 2022
I have nothing really to say expect I finally did it! I'm expecting that I'll need a redo of the whole thing, but still, I went through lol.
Lines:
You didn't follow the instruction thoroughly in the superimposed lines. You need to put your initial line with a ruler and then followed with your freehand lines, and make sure to refer to the example shown as to how much you have to draw it.
I see some arching lines, especially when your lines have gone half-way to your dots. I guess you're too quick to lift your pen, remember that overshooting is okay and you'll get the hang of it over time.
As for your planes, I still see some arching, but you have more confidence in your lines here.
Ellipses :
Did you missed the table of ellipses exercise?
You did good on your ellipses in planes, just some wobbling, but that's nothing big
In the funnels, most of your ellipses didn't cut through the minor axis evenly. Take your time in placing it, don't rush, you can also measure it's length with your ruler and find the middle point easily. And make sure to snuggle your ellipses tightly
Boxes :
I see that you're having problems with perspective in your rotated boxes. This might help https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/368870697742630912/715669112222908466/zfr3o7xneog31.png
I'll be asking for revisions for some exercises, feel free to reply to me.
Next Steps:
Superimposed Lines, Funnels
I forgot to include the table of ellipses, my bad! here https://imgur.com/a/MDL9ix5
Great, I'll be waiting for your revisions and review it altogether with this.
Sorry to keep you waiting!
When it comes to technical drawing, there's no one better than Scott Robertson. I regularly use this book as a reference when eyeballing my perspective just won't cut it anymore. Need to figure out exactly how to rotate an object in 3D space? How to project a shape in perspective? Look no further.
