Took me a while, but finally finished Lesson 1
Hey great job on finishing the first lesson mate, hats off to you.
So from i see:
+Your ellipses looks good they are pretty clean and confident so for that i'll say you did really well on the 3 ellipses excersises.
+On the funnels exercise some of your ellipses arent alligned to the minor axis so keep it in mind for future warm up.
+On the superimposed lines exercise i can see some of you lines have a little bit a fraying on the first end, while it is minimal make sure to keep that in mind for future warm up
+Your lines still arent smooth but that perfectly fine and i expect you to keep working on those in the future.
+The box exercise i can see you tried your best to follow the instruction correctly and that's really all that matter but if you want a more in depth look into your work you could ask me here or on discord
All in all congrat on finishing the first lesson,
Next Steps:
For what you should do next i highly suggest you keep practicing with your lines (ghosted/superimposed lines) along with ellipses in planes.
Make sure you read the instruction carefully before doin them and try comparing them to your old lesson 1 work to see if you're still making those same mistakes or not
This recommendation is really just for those of you who've reached lesson 6 and onwards.
I haven't found the actual brand you buy to matter much, so you may want to shop around. This one is a "master" template, which will give you a broad range of ellipse degrees and sizes (this one ranges between 0.25 inches and 1.5 inches), and is a good place to start. You may end up finding that this range limits the kinds of ellipses you draw, forcing you to work within those bounds, but it may still be worth it as full sets of ellipse guides can run you quite a bit more, simply due to the sizes and degrees that need to be covered.
No matter which brand of ellipse guide you decide to pick up, make sure they have little markings for the minor axes.
