Good evening everyone...

Finally got back after the 250 box challenge!

I can say it's a tough challenge as I read it would be... Literally a roller coaster :o

At first I thought that I understand the assignment but after 10/20 boxes something was missing/wrong and I didn't captured until about the 40 box: I can't recognize without doubts which are the checking lines that have to go to the vanishing points and which is the face that are visible -thinking that there is only one specific unknown (for me) side that can be shaded-.

Infact until then I guessed the checking lines and do and not do the shade - I later do the corrections.

I finally find the solution to comprehend that concepts through the comments (in particular to 'Kent Marcus') on Youtube of the 'How to draw a box 2' video, where Uncomfortable commented that a little explanation about that part was missing in the video and then summarized the crucial point.

Aaand... I can admit that I do some breaks in the during and rushed a little trough the end but now I can't wait to see what's coming next. .

Thank you in advance to anyone who will pass and review the boxes

Bye, bye :)

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
