For the former that is not how feedback, official at least, works. It constructively critiques your work so that you can consolidate your learning before moving onto the next, progressively tougher, stage. It stops you getting ahead of yourself and stops problems from compounding later.

I think on the latter point it is up to you to assess if it is the right course for you. I don't see it changing to be more flexible and I don't think it should. You have chosen this course, it didn't choose you. EOM.

Good clarification when it comes to feedback. Thanks for your feedback, sincerely.

I guess I'll have to think about if I'll continue to do this program. I was and am willing to do the hard work, but if I have eccentricities that there isn't room for, then maybe I'm just not cut out for this stuff.

The good news is there have never been so many easily accessible and low price art courses. I am subscribed to Creature Art Teacher, Skillshare, 21Draw and do Drawabox.

The term "struggling artist" exists for a reason. For most it is a struggle. I am hitting a wall at lesson 5 : Animals. I had hoped to have completed it by January but my head isn't in it. I will get there eventually though. In the mean time I am being taught how to draw animals by Aaron Blaise and it's a lot more fun for now. But the pendulum will swing back.

Good luck.

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

This is a remarkable little pen. Technically speaking, any brush pen of reasonable quality will do, but I'm especially fond of this one. It's incredibly difficult to draw with (especially at first) due to how much your stroke varies based on how much pressure you apply, and how you use it - but at the same time despite this frustration, it's also incredibly fun.

Moreover, due to the challenge of its use, it teaches you a lot about the nuances of one's stroke. These are the kinds of skills that one can carry over to standard felt tip pens, as well as to digital media. Really great for doodling and just enjoying yourself.
