Vanilla didn't add next steps, so I'll add my part to theirs!

For the arrows, apart from the scratchy linework, you can try to make the spaces between the arrows and the size of the arrows themselves grow more exponentially. It'll help on giving the illusion of depth. Something that can help to draw them is to mark with dots the places where you want the arrow to turn, and use them when ghosting the arrow itself.

Leaves look good like vanilla said, but you might be exaggerating too much the gesture on some of them. Try to be more wary of that for the next ones.

On branches you aren't shifiting the degrees of the ellipses much. Keep in mind that even if the branch is straight, the different sections of it will have ellipses of different degrees, just like with sausages.

To fix the visible tails b on some of the branches you can try overlapping them more, here's an example of this.

For the plants overall I think you're doing a pretty good job as well, a few things:

-Here are some notes on one of the plants, to sum up, don't forget you can use the axis line to help you allign the ellipses. Try to adhere to the construction you do (the contour line) by being more careful with your lines. Just like with normal lines, make sure you place your pen carefully at the start of each line so they don't fray on 2 ends.

-About shadows, don't forget that they should follow the form they're being casted on, they shouldn't stick to the form that casts them. Here's an example. You can also exaggerate the shadows a bit more like I did to show to communicate the form better.

-Contours such as these look a little bit rushed as well, remember to take your time with them. If those were meant to be the texture of the leaf and not contours, keep in mind that when drawing detail you should always approach it with lesson 2 techniques, that is, focusing on drawing only cast shadows, not lines. And to do that this is a great way to go about it, it'll force you to stop thinking in lines.

Overall pretty good job! Your next step is lesson 4, good luck and keep up the good work!

Hey, almost done with my lesson 3 so i decided to give some feedbacks. Haha

For the first assignment, your arrows looks scratchy. Try to draw them with more confidence but you did well with the persepctives.

The leaves for the second assignment looks good. They flow and look dynamic.

For the branches try to ghost your line more so it hits the other line. Think about where you place your lines before placing them. If not, the lines wouldn't connect and comes of scratchy.

I think you did really well with the plants. They look good and I like the ones you picked out. Some of the shading I feel like you could think a little bit more before placing them, like the cabbage. The darker lines should have a bit more thoughts in terms of what you're trying the emphasize and show.

Overall, I think you did a good job! Keep going amd let's do this!

Hey thanks a lot!

I agree with you on the shading from my part, The cabbage was the first one I did and I kind of went overboard without thinkig.

Also, I agree that I should take more time to thnk about my lanes.

Again, Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!

Ellipse Master Template

Ellipse Master Template

This recommendation is really just for those of you who've reached lesson 6 and onwards.

I haven't found the actual brand you buy to matter much, so you may want to shop around. This one is a "master" template, which will give you a broad range of ellipse degrees and sizes (this one ranges between 0.25 inches and 1.5 inches), and is a good place to start. You may end up finding that this range limits the kinds of ellipses you draw, forcing you to work within those bounds, but it may still be worth it as full sets of ellipse guides can run you quite a bit more, simply due to the sizes and degrees that need to be covered.

No matter which brand of ellipse guide you decide to pick up, make sure they have little markings for the minor axes.
