Finished my 250 Box challenge all advice / criticism is helpful, thanks!

Also when uploading to Imgur the order got messed up and I couldn't find an easy way to put it back in order without manually uploading one at a time and making sure it was placed correctly, so sorry about the order.

Congratulations on doing the box challenge! You've done a pretty good job overall, and your boxes end up p good already, but I'll try to comment in what I can so you can keep improving.

First thing is the inner corner, you end up getting it pretty good by the end, but here is a diagram that talks about using the relationships between lines to help you draw boxes, give it a read as it's pretty helpful.

And here's another diagram that might help you on getting new orientations of boxes, so you can keep practicing.

As I said, except some minor issues on convergences, your boxes end up pretty good, so I recommend looking already into the advanced exercises, so you can keep challenging yourself. Great job!

Next Steps:

Congratulations on finishing lesson the box challenge! Your next step is lesson 2

As I marked this as complete, you are now qualified to critique lesson 1 and box challenge submissions.

-Doing critiques is a way of learning and solidifying concepts. I can atest to that after having done hundreds of critiques. There are a lot of concepts that I did not understand, and thanks to critiquing I started understanding them. Which made me learn a lot more through the course.

-Another thing is that as the number of current submissions is super high, if you critique some critiques, those would be less critiques I'd have to critique before reaching your next submissions, so you'd get your critiques faster.

It's totally optional of course, I won't force anyone to give critiques. But me and the other people who are critiquing would be super grateful if you gave it a shot.

Good luck on lesson 2, and keep up the good work!

NOTE: here's a quick guide on critiquing lesson 1 submissions.

There are a few people that feel hesitant to critique because they feel they aren't ready to it so hopefully it'll help you in case you are one of those people.

This community member feels the lesson should be marked as complete, and 2 others agree. The student has earned their completion badge for this lesson and should feel confident in moving onto the next lesson.

in imgur, click the three dots on topmof your post, click edit, then click "re-order photos"

pretty sure the post must be set to "hidden" instead of "public" 1st. U can set it back to public after.

Next Steps:

re-order images for clarity.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Staedtler Pigment Liners

Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
