Lesson 1 orphee

Superimposed lines:

The scanning slightly lowers the image quality at some points but that’s alright. You have some fraying on both ends which means that you are too hasty. Try to start every line from the same point. Fraying on the ends is okay and expected though so don’t worry about that. The lines are confident though so you should be good.

Ghosted lines:

They are confident and straight for the most part. Good. It also seems like you are lifting your pen instead of stopping, nice.

Planes:

Good linework. Make them less distorted though, that’s easier for the ellipses later.

Ellipses:

Good. You are mindful of having them fit tightly into the tables and you are drawing them confidently and smoothly. Also, you drew through them 2-3 times, good.

Funnels:

Good. Your ellipses are aligned with the minor axis and they fight well into the form.

Plotted perspective:

Good. I especially like how tightly you hatched the boxes.

Rough Perspective:

Good. The boxes are a bit wonky sometimes but that gets better with practice. Remember that the width lines are parallel to the horizon and the height lines are perpendicular to it.

Rotated Boxes:

You did really well for your first attempt. I think you understood the concept well. If you want to, you could try it again after the 250 box challenge to see how much better you can do this exercise since at this point it is a bit too difficult.

Organic Perspective:

Good. Maybe use some more smaller boxes but I think overall you managed to rotate the boxes well. Remember that the individual lines of the initial Y can have slightly more varying lengths. We are drawing boxes not cubes. But you did well regardless.

Conclusion: You did really well in lesson 1. It seems like you really paid attention to the instructions and what each exercise was meant to teach you. So I think you are ready to move on to the 250 Box Challenge.
