Hi, I'm znorb and I'm going to do your critique

Lines: I see that in your ghosted/superimposed lines your lines start getting wobbly sometimes, probably because you aren't getting used to draw with the shoulder, sometimes I see a bit of arching on the lines on the ghosted lines exercise too, and in the planes exercise I can see that the lines start getting more and more confident, which is great.

Ellipses: Something I would improve is that I see when you do the ellipses they start getting wobbly sometimes. Always remember to ghost the ellipse 2-3 times before doing the ellipse. In your ellipses on planes I see that the confidence improves. In that same exercise there are some ellipses that don't touch the points of the plane, remember that the ellipses should touch the 4 points of the plane. You did great with the funnels exercise fitting all the ellipses on the funnel

Boxes: In your boxes exercise you did the steps correctly, you added the depth lines to the boxes in the rough perspective, and you drew through the boxes on all the exercises, which is great. The main thing I would notice here is that sometimes in the exercises of boxes you repeated the lines for the boxes. Remember to not repeat the lines to correct the boxes, you shouldn't be repeating lines when doing the exercises. In your organic perspective exercises some of the small boxes start chicken scratching, remember that when drawing the lines of the boxes they should be a single, confident line even if the box is small (https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/3/continuous)

After all of the mistakes, I see that you did the steps properly on every exercise and if you keep practicing those exercises as warmups, you will get better at them and the mistakes will become less and less relevant. Good luck with the next challenge

Thank you so much for the critique! I do tend to repeat the lines to correct boxes and I will be mindful of it going forward. I'm glad you could spot my confidence growing with exercises and will do my best to keep it up.

Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens

Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
