Hello! I tried my best using shoulder and ghosting. I think I ruined the fineliner's tip a bit, cause when I do bigger strokes/lines, then the ink doesn't wanna come out well. I'm sorry if sometimes it seems like some longer lines are stronger than other, especially in organic perspective excersise.

I would be very thankful for the feedback tho! :)

Lines

Your line overally look good. I would like to point out few things tho. First off, sometimes you miss starting point of your line, please remember to focus on landing your pen exactly where it needs to then make confident swoop like samurai with your cutting edge ink pen. Secondly, you seem to sometimes arch your strokes or fix them mid through, just so it meets the end line. Don't do that. Your goal is to swipe a line straight as close to the end point as possible, just that. You will make bad lines that will go over your goal, or under your goal, or steer right or left from your goal, I still don't make ideal lines. The main principle to learn how to do straight lines is to do them confidently and confidently make mistakes.

Ellipses

Ellipses are really good, one thing to point out is I think you sometimes try to think how will the elipse go as you are drawing the elipse, and that causes sudden turns. Ghost elipse and just trust it will go where it needs to go, do not adjust it as you go.

Perspective

Perspective is okay, you will learn more about it in 250 box challange. Remember that hatching is vital part of many box exercises. In rotated boxes, you did hatching pretty lazly, remember that hatching is also part of the exercise and you need to do it with care and focus, simlar how you make lines in only line exercises.

Overall great job, proud of you. You can go to 250 box challange, just rember about what I talked above.

Your fineliner tip might be broken because you use too much force on paper when you draw, drilling fineliner into paper when you draw shortens their life siginificantly, but it is just a suggestion, just check if you are not putting too much pressure on it.

Next Steps:

First of all, congratulations on finishing lesson 1! Your next step is the box challenge.

As I marked this as complete, you are now qualified to critique lesson 1 submissions.

-Doing critiques is a way of learning and solidifying concepts.

-Another thing is that as the number of current submissions is super high, if you critique some critiques, those would be less critiques I'd have to critique before reaching your next submissions, so you'd get your critiques faster.

It's totally optional of course, I won't force anyone to give critiques. But me and the other people who are critiquing would be super grateful if you gave it a shot.

Good luck on the box challenge, and keep up the good work!

NOTE: here's a quick guide on critiquing lesson 1 submissions.

There are a few people that feel hesitant to critique because they feel they aren't ready to it so hopefully it'll help you in case you are one of those people.

Everything looks good. The ellipses and lines are done well, just look out for any arching in the lines. A few boxes in the organic perspective aren't right, the set of parallel lines is diverging for some of the boxes that you drew.

like in this image the lines that form the left face move to the bottom and the left vanishing points.

But this issue will get ironed out once you do the 250 boxes challenge. just keep practicing the exercises in lesson 1 as warm ups.

Hello!

Your lines and ellipses are looking good! There are some lines that tend to be a bit wobbly towards the end though, and some of the ellipses are a bit wobbly as well. Remember that for now you should prioritize confidence over accuracy, as you keep practicing the ghosting method and drawing from your shoulder your accuracy will get better as well.

For the rotated boxes exercise, you kept too much distance between the corners of the boxes closer to the central one, although the other ones are fine.

Overall the other boxes are good! Just keep in mind that the parallel lines have to converge eventually, and not diverge as it shows in some of your boxes on the organic perspective exercise. Try to keep that in mind when you do the 250 box challenge!

And don't worry too much about the fineliner, with practice you'll get used to it and learn how to use it so that it won't break.

Hello! Thank you alot too, everyone gave their valuable opinion, I will put them in the use when I do warm ups :)

It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something I've used myself. If you're interested, here is a full list.
Sakura Pigma Microns

Sakura Pigma Microns

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
