Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes

Hi there! I've had a long break from drawabox and the exercises, so I've started with Lesson 1 again.
Thanks so much for any feedback in advance :)
I’ll be reviewing my homework, I had trouble seeing issues within each individual assignment and instead saw a pattern throughout the entire lesson so that is what I focused on.
From the ghosted lines homework there starts to be an issue of wobbly lines, which seems to show throughout the lesson. The accuracy is amazing, but I think it is coming at the expense of your line confidence. The ellipses in planes works show this the best; the ellipses are all properly contained within the plane with very few position/sizing issues, but if you look closely you start to see that the lines aren’t as smooth as they would be if someone was moving confidently and quickly. That aside, you seem to have a very clear understanding of the lesson and of what you should do for each assignment, and avoid the mistakes Uncomfortable describes in his instructions.
Overall great work on the lesson, going at the 250 box challenge while putting your focus on smooth confident lines should be really beneficial.
Next Steps:
Good job finishing the lesson, onto the the 250 box challenge, make sure to warm up before each session and to pace yourself
This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.
When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.
Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
