hey, i'm koyomi and i will be reviewing your 250 boxes challenge!

first of all good job for going all the way through the challenge!

i don't wan't to sound harsh but there's a lot of mistakes and there's some that i think could have been avoided easily, so let's see.

the first thing i'm noticing here is the absence of correction lines. there's only four pages where i can see you drew them, correction lines aren't an option it's a requirements and it's purpose is for you to notice your mistakes, have consciousness about what goes wrong and what goes right to improve your understanding of 3d space. https://drawabox.com/lesson/250boxes/1/convergences

we can see that your lines are improving through the challenge so that's great! at the end your lines are arcing a little bit i would advise to try arc consciously in the opposite direction to get a straighter line. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/10/arc

you did a lot of 2 point perspective boxesespecially at the end, i would not recommend to do so much of them, one or two each 20 boxes isn't too bad but your focus should be on 3 point perspective boxes. your boxes are also pretty redundant i would advise to use the Y method shown i the course to diversify your boxes.

i think you rushed this challenge and you should not. you will not improve simply by going through drawabox lessons and do the exercises in a record time, you need to slow down and pay more attention to what drawabox has to offer to you. if you rush, at the end you will be disappointed because you will not have learned as much as you think you would.

Next Steps:

move on to lesson two but pay a closer attention to the content of the course.

include 1 or 2 boxes (with correction lines) to your warm

Thank you for pointing out my mistakes, your feedback was very helpful!

Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
