Hi, great job on finishing Lesson 1!

Starting off with your Superimposed Lines, great work on only keeping fraying on the ends and drawing your line all the way to the plotted point.

Your Ghosted Lines and Ghosted Planes are exhibiting great confidence, nice job on using the ghosting method! Even if your lines may undershoot or not quite exactly hit the plotted point, we're not focusing on accuracy right now just the confidence. Some of your lines wobble subtly or arch but that's alright as it's only Lesson 1. You'll definitely get more practice with this in future lessons and challenges.

You're drawing your ellipses with good confidence as well, especially seen on your Table of Ellipses. Great job on drawing through your ellipses and keeping a consistent shape on all of them.

There is a noticeable difference on your Ellipses in Planes some of the ellipses tend to be less confidence and exhibit wobbling. This may be because you're trying to make sure the ellipses touches all sides of the plane and are slowing down to make sure they do. Remember to rely on muscle memory by using the ghosting method to confidently draw your ellipses. Either way again, you'll be getting more practice with ellipses in future lessons / challenges so no worries as of now.

Your funnels are coming along well, good work on keeping the ellipses inside the funnel and snuggly fitting the them next to each other. A small minor issue is that your funnels aren't aligned with the minor axis causing them to look off, but they're great nonetheless.

Plotted Perspective is great, a minor thing is that it looks like you didn't use a ruler when hatching, all the lines drawn in this exercise should be done with the use of a ruler.

Your Rough Perspective is great as well, your estimations to the vanishing point are good and will become better with practice. Another thing is, don't feel the need to repeat lines when they don't come out as you intended. It's ok to make mistakes and you should move on to the next line as if they were drawn correctly.

It looks like you struggled slightly on Rotates Boxes which is perfectly fine. Your outer boxes tend to not fit snuggly with the adjacent boxes and look out of place. I definitely recommend drawing them bigger next time so you can better view your mistakes. It's clear you struggled with rotating boxes at the corner but that's alright, your bottom right corner is really good.

Your Organic Pespective is good overall, well done on drawing boxes from different orientations, slight perspective problems but you'll get more practice with that in the 250 Box Challenge.

Overall, your work is very solid and you did amazing! Just remember to not repeat your lines and definitely do some of these exercises as warm ups in the future. Another thing I might add that might help you is the use of line weight and hatching on boxes. When applying line weight, you do 1 ghosted / imposed stroke on the outer lines of the box to solidify the shape. When hatching, take the time to do so and don't rush, it'll help tell the viewer which side is facing us and make your boxes look good as well. I'll be marking this submission as complete, good luck on the 250 Box Challenge!

Hey Quan! thanks so much for taking the time to look at my work and give feedback, I really appreciate that you took the time to do so. I really need to try not to repeat lines, I've done it a bunch in the 250 box challenge as well, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

I really struggled with the funnels and rotated box exercises, I had to force my brain to think about space and rotation in a different way. Rotated boxes was by far the most difficult, drawing the boxes bigger makes a lot of sense and I'll try and do that when I use the exercise as a warm up. Thinking about rotating shapes really makes my head hurt, but I'm looking forward to learning more and growing.

Thanks for mentioning line weight and for your advice, I will try and ghost the lines, I feel the temptation to scribble over the existing lines, but that kind of defeats the purpose of learning this way.

Thanks again for your kind words and helpful feedback, I'll do my best to keep it in mind in the future exercises.

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

This is a remarkable little pen. Technically speaking, any brush pen of reasonable quality will do, but I'm especially fond of this one. It's incredibly difficult to draw with (especially at first) due to how much your stroke varies based on how much pressure you apply, and how you use it - but at the same time despite this frustration, it's also incredibly fun.

Moreover, due to the challenge of its use, it teaches you a lot about the nuances of one's stroke. These are the kinds of skills that one can carry over to standard felt tip pens, as well as to digital media. Really great for doodling and just enjoying yourself.
