Here my homework for 250 box challenge ! I finished it few time ago, it took me 3 months.

I feel like I have progressed in this exercice with some errors from time to time. I admit that I was tired and not very motivated at times but I imagine that it's normal with this type of exercise...I did my best to stay focused each time.

Thank you to stop by to give me your feedback and critiques !

I think you did fine with your boxes. They seem to be constructed decently with your extended lines meeting up around where the vanishing point is for the most part. You still make the occasional error of your middle lines converging or diverging too early like on page 47 and 50. But that's an issue that can be fixed through drawing warm ups.

The big thing about your boxes that I can critique is the lack of variety. In the description for the exercise Uncomfortable describes how you should practice both dramatic and shallow foreshortening, he states "I want you to make sure you practice both of these." You did not incorporate boxes with dramatic foreshortening in your 250 boxes. This is something to keep in mind for future lessons, make sure you read the material carefully so you don't miss anything.

Next Steps:

Move onto lesson 2 while occasionally doing the rotated box exercise to remove a few of the small kinks present in your boxes. Read the material through carefully. That way you can get the full benefits of the lesson by not missing out on any important details.

This community member feels the lesson should be marked as complete, and 2 others agree. The student has earned their completion badge for this lesson and should feel confident in moving onto the next lesson.

Thank you for the critique ! Yeah I think I immersed myself too quickly in this exercise, I'll take the time to read more carefully now...( and use a translator to better understand because i'm not anglophone).

I'll continue to draw boxes for warmup and follow your advices, thanks again !

The Science of Deciding What You Should Draw

The Science of Deciding What You Should Draw

Right from when students hit the 50% rule early on in Lesson 0, they ask the same question - "What am I supposed to draw?"

It's not magic. We're made to think that when someone just whips off interesting things to draw, that they're gifted in a way that we are not. The problem isn't that we don't have ideas - it's that the ideas we have are so vague, they feel like nothing at all. In this course, we're going to look at how we can explore, pursue, and develop those fuzzy notions into something more concrete.
