Hello and congrats on completing lesson one. My name is Rob and I'm a teaching assistant for Drawabox who will be handling your lesson one critique. Starting with your superimposed lines these are off to a okay start. Obviously there are some issues with line wobble here and since you said you have a tremor and because I'm also seeing a lot of improvement as you worked through these exercises I'll just leave this section on line wobble here for you to take a look at. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/9/wobbling Your ghosted lines are still having pretty serious wobble issues but I'm seeing a lot of improvement with your ghosted planes. You are using the ghosting method to good effect to get fairly confident linework with a pretty decent deal of accuracy that will get better and better with practice.

Your tables of ellipses are coming along pretty good. You are doing a good job drawing through your ellipses and focusing on consistent smooth ellipse shapes although you seem to be getting more significant wobble on the second pass of each ellipse. This is very noticeable in your ellipses in planes as well. I'm wondering if you are slowing down your stroke for the sake of accuracy which is causing more wobble? Definitely something to consider. Although accuracy is our end goal it can't really be forced and tends to come with mileage and consistent practice more than anything else and you are far better off focusing on a smooth consistent stroke over accuracy. Another issue I'm seeing with your ellipses in planes is that they are floating inside the plane a lot of times. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/13/floating You could do a much better job trying to hit all 4 sides of the plane with your ellipse. Your ellipses in funnels are having some issues with tilting off the minor axis. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/14/notaligned This is something you should always start considering when drawing your ellipses. Obviously the wobble with your ellipses overall is a bit of an issue. I understand that ellipses are already hard to draw in the first place and I can imagine they are that much more difficult with a tremor. So make sure you keep practicing these during your warmups as there is plenty of room for improvement here. Try and focus less on accuracy and more on just getting smooth consistent ellipse shapes without wobble.

The plotted perspective looks great, nothing to mention here. Your rough perspective exercises turned out decently. It's great that you are keeping up with the confident linework on these. While there is still some wobble happening here and there the bigger issue I'm noticing is that you are starting to redraw lines a lot which is destroying the initially confident linework you put down. You are much better off putting down a single confident line that is less accurate than trying to redraw the line afterwards which may possibly add line wobble and also just makes the image more confusing. You are doing a good job extending the lines back on your boxes to check your work. As you can see some of your perspective estimations were quite off but that will become more intuitive with practice. One thing that can help you a bit when doing a one point perspective exercise like this is to realize that all of your horizontal lines should be parallel to the horizon line and all of your verticals should be perpendicular(straight up and down in this case) to the horizon line. This will help you avoid some of the slanting lines you have in your constructions.

Your rotated box exercise was obviously a bit of a struggle. Although you drew this at a decent something that would have really helped you here would have to been to draw this bigger overall. Drawing bigger really helps when dealing with complex spatial problems. On the plus side I'm seeing a lot less line wobble here. You also did a good job drawing through your boxes and keeping your gaps narrow and consistent. You are running into a pretty common issue of not actually rotating your boxes in some cases but instead simply drawing them moving back in perspective. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/17/notrotating This is a great exercise to come back to after a few lessons to see how much your spatial thinking ability has improved. Your organic perspective exercises are looking pretty good. You seem to be getting more comfortable using the ghosting method and drawing from your shoulder for confident linework which is great and you seem to have mostly gotten your line wobble under control while drawing boxes at least. Great work. Your box constructions are quite solid for the most part and you seem to have a good understanding that lines on boxes need to converge to vanishing points which means you shouldn't have many problems with the 250 box challenge.

Overall this was a really solid submission that showed a nice deal of growth especially since you have a tremor. Your line confidence while drawing boxes was looking really good by the last two exercises. The redrawing lines was a bit of an issue with your rough perspective boxes so try and keep that in mind. Obviously the ellipses definitely need more work. I'm not going to assign any revisions but make sure you keep practicing them during your warmups as they are a pretty essential part of drawing. Otherwise, I think you are understanding most of the concepts these lessons are trying to convey quite well. I'm going to mark this as complete and good luck with the 250 box challenge. Keep up the good work!
