I admit, I tried a pencil (the first two lines) and switched to the ballpoint pen with the first two pages. I didn't have a fineliner and I was doing this at midnight. Next day I dragged myself off to the stationery store, somehow left with more ballpoint pens. I don't know why that happens every time. Anyway, at least I actually got liners as well. Be merciful
Remember that a ballpoint is only acceptable for the first lesson and the box challenge- even then, it’s recommended to switch to a fineliner as soon as you’re able.
This looks good, by the way. Try not to grind, though. There’s 3 pages of the superimposed lines exercise, out of the required 2. It’d have been nice to have some more variety (regarding line lengths) in those first 2, too.
Thank you for feedback! I'll keep your suggestions in mind for my next homework. I did switch to fineliner, as I said, I didn't have any, but I've bought myself some and now I'm itching to go and buy more, along with a bunch of other stuff I'm pretty sure I don't need. :D
I'll try more variety for next assignments
This is a remarkable little pen. Technically speaking, any brush pen of reasonable quality will do, but I'm especially fond of this one. It's incredibly difficult to draw with (especially at first) due to how much your stroke varies based on how much pressure you apply, and how you use it - but at the same time despite this frustration, it's also incredibly fun.
Moreover, due to the challenge of its use, it teaches you a lot about the nuances of one's stroke. These are the kinds of skills that one can carry over to standard felt tip pens, as well as to digital media. Really great for doodling and just enjoying yourself.
