Hi, I'll be providing critique on your box challenge.
Overall, your submission looks good. You varied up the orientations of your boxes, the lines look confidently drawn, and by boxes 50-60 it seems like you were able to converge your lines fairly consistently. You also applied hatching with good spacing and not much fraying.
Some things you could have done better:
-
Some of your boxes still had lines that were converging in pairs instead of all together. Remember that the goal of this challenge was to get you to think of all 4 lines converging towards a single vanishing point with consistent angles between them.
-
There were a few instances where you had extension lines facing towards the viewer, like on box 87. This didn't come up commonly though so you're fine.
-
Several boxes had corner angles that were less than 90 degrees. We generally wanted to avoid these since the boxes are more likely to look distorted.
-
Your line weight seems to have been applied to both the outer edges and the front Y, when we wanted it on just the outer edges. It's good that you applied it though because it was optional, and your accuracy with it was very good.
-
You could have maybe experimented a little more with foreshortening. Most of your boxes have shallow perspective and have vanishing points far away from the box, so in the future, try having some of your lines converge more dramatically.
I'm going to mark this as complete. Congrats on completing this challenge and good luck with lesson 2!
