Hey! I am only at lesson 4 and aint done a lot of critqiue but i will do my best to give you some CC
Starting off with your ghosting lines i think you are off to a good start!
You appear to have done a decent job at plotting them and remembering to put down a starting point and finishing point.
The main thing i notice is that you have quite a lot of wobble on them. As the Draw a box article says
"In drawabox you should always prioritize confidence over accuracy.
A wobbly line is a mistake, no matter how accurate, and a confident line will be correct, as with practice the accuracy will get better."
While some of your ghosted lines do hit the mark overall some of them are very wobbly and it is pretty clear you did not have a lot of confidence when you ghosted/drew them.
Of course i dont mean to say this to discourage you it is totaly natural and i had the same issue as well. Think of it like this.
"Your goal should be a confident line that is smooth and straight. It is fine if it misses. A missed confident line is a success/better outcome then a wobbly non confident line that still hits the end point.
Some of your ghosted lines also have a bit of arching. It is not major but still worth to keep note off and try to improve on. Make sure to use your shoulder and ghost plenty of times so you get a good feel for the motion. But it is also just something that will improve with time so keep it up.
For the superimposed lines i think you did a good job as well. I noticed a bit of fraying on the starting point of some lines. Try to make sure to put down a clearly defined start point/Dot then always start from it. Take as much time as you need.
You also have the same wobble and lack of confidnece in most of the superimposed lines so keep working on that. Same with the arching. But good work overall
As for your elipses...
The elipses are quite varied.
The main thing i notice is a lack of confidence and drawing through the elipse to many times.
THe preferable ammount of times you want to do the elipse motion is 2 time. Many of your elipses appear to have been drawn through several times. Like...5-8? I am not sure. But 2-3 is enough. This is to help you keep confidence and minimize clutter.
In the elipse table you have done a decent job at keeping them from overlapping each other. But you still have a bit of floating elipses that dont properly touch or rub up against each other.
Keep that in mind.
Also off note but avoid adding your own text or sketching/weird colors to the pages. Stick to the fineliner and dont add any text or sketches. Keep the contents of your page to just the DAB lesson.
Lastly make sure to keep your elipses within bounds.
You did a good job at keeping them inside the table i think but for th ghosted planes you often went outside the plane or did not "fit" the elipse within it.
Your goal should be to touch all four corners of the plane. But of course priortise confidence and smoothness over accuracy if you have to.
Now for the funnels.
I think you did a great job on these! Confidence/woobling lines non withstanding you fit the elipses in rather well and managed to cut the elipse in half with the minor axis and you also kept the elipses quite tight and snuggly within the funnel. Great job.
Just make sure to practice the wobble/confidence and try to squeeze them together just a bit more.
Great job on your plotted perspective. Solid lines, good hatching and you did the see through well.
Good start on rough perspective. It is a difficult once.
I noticed you had a lot of wobble and also darkend the lines a lot on some of the boxes for Lineweight . Dont repeat lines more then twice and do it carefully with ghosting.
Overall i think you appear to have understood the rough perspective etc but just make sure to work on the boxes themselves. Keep practicing your lines, confidence and line weight.
Solid work on rotated boxes. I am not great at that one myself but you seem to have done a good job at keeping the boxes close to each other and they appear to be rotating. Good work
Good work on organic perspective.
Main CC i have for you there are your lines. Same issue as earlier with a lack of conidence and wobble.
You should also be more bold. Make the difference betwne the boxes bigger, make some really huge and some more small to really push the perspective.
OVerall great work!
You did good on on most of the things and appear to understand the theory/logic behind a lot of the boxes and other homeworks.
Your primary issue/What you should focus on is 100% confidence and getting rid if your wobbly lines.
It is very imporant for DAB overall.
I would avise you to redo the ghosted lines homework.
This includes superimposed lines, ghosted planes and ghosted lines.
Make sure to save the planes for the next part in which i would recomend you do the ghosted planes with elipses.
Overall you did a good job but i think you would benefit greatly from practicing your lines so you can improve your capacity to prevent wobbly lines and gain more confidence. Same with the ghosted plane elipses.
By doing this you will benefit greatly later on when you do the box challenge in which you will need confident strokes as well as practice your elipses for future lessons.
GOod work! keep it up!
