Hi Senpai i am trollfromhell and i am gonna give u my critique for your finished exercise

    1.lines

your super imposed lines are fraying on both ends and i think u should take time for ghosting before u stroke ur lines but ur ghosted lines are really good

    2.elipses in planes

make sure when u draw elipses u draw it through twice and use ghosting method to estimate your elipses also keep the lines of elipses close together and it takes lots of elipses to be draw to get clean looking elipses

    3.tables of elipses

just keep the lines of elipses close

    4.funnels

the minor axis (the line in the middle) should cut ellipses in 2 symetrical halves.

    5.plotted perspective

they look really clean and neat i like it so much you are doing a great job

    6.rough perspective

your width and heights lines are great!!! they are perpendicular to the horizontal line

    7.rotated boxes

i see some of the boxes are not rotating but i guess it's okay because this is your first time to face drawing in perspective like this so i reccomend u to check this out if you wanna get good at drawing rotated boxes https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/368870697742630912/715669112222908466/zfr3o7xneog31.png

    8.organic perspective

yes these boxes look great because the perspective is not too extreme so it's still easier for the viewers to look at the rotation of the boxes, good job

u should move to 250 boxes exercise

Hey seanyboy my name is trollfromhell and i am ready to give u my critiques for your finished lesson 1

    1.lines

your super imposed lines look good and the lines are fraying only at the far end and i guess the more u do ghosting method before u stroke ur straight line the better ur straight lines become at the far end and also your ghosting lines are okay

    2.ghosted planes/elipses in planes

i am sure u find it difficult at first to put elipses in a narrow size planes but i see you have confidenct lines and good elipses so yeah they look okay

    3.tables of elipses

they are okay but i think when u draw elipses keep the lines close together so they will look tightened and it takes lots of elipses to draw and eventually you will hit clean elipses

    4.funnels

On funnels, the minor axis (the line in the middle) should cut ellipses in 2 symetrical halves.

    5.plotted perspective

just draw lighty for the lines of the boxes but when u put shadow do make it darker so it will make it look 3D

    6.rough perspective

the vanishing point is always on the horizontal line so u should plot your boxes towards it also width lines and height lines perpendicular to the horizontal line

    7.rotated boxes

they look okay but u just need to move to 250 boxes to get a grasp on it

    8.rough perspective

when u draw ur boxes make sure the perspective is not too extreme so it will be much easier for you to rotate that on your mind

allright afer seeing your lines it looks like you take time to stoke it and your elipses look better and for your rotated boxes they look okay but it's okay it's a tough lesson and i think it's time for you to move to 250 boxes exercise

hi bro i am trollfromhell and i will give my critiques

    -lines

your lines look confident and a little TINY bit of arcing on barely a handful of these, but most are perfectly bold and confident. I wish mine were this good, actually

    ellipses

your ellipses are pretty good too, on the ellipses table exercise i notice some ellipses that overlaps each other, remember to keep them within their bounds, they should touch each other without overlapping. same with the funnels exercise!

-Funnels: These look really good. The minor axis cuts right across almost all of the ellipses. That, and most touch each other too.

-Plotted Perspective: Looks great. I see nothing wrong here.

-Rough Perspective: Also looks really great.

-Rotated Boxes: All the boxes fit nice and tight together

-organic perspective:man these boxes look great

i think you are good to go to 250 boxes lesson

    Next Steps:

    250 boxes exercise

i really agree with koyomi that your lines and elipses are great !!! but when it comes to rotated boxes i see some mistakes like his boxes are not rotating they are out of perspective maybe he needs to give it a try again for rotated boxes

so the key is use the neighbouring edges bro and as the boxes rotate the vanishing points are also getting closer to each other and they are along the horizontal line and that's what makes them look rotated

i just want you to give a try again for rotated boxes ok

    Next Steps:

    1 rotated boxes

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

bro you need to finish all of the exercises ok,but i will give my critiques

    1.lines

you need to pay attention to where ur lines are going because i feel you just drew it fastly but fast doesnt mean it will look good you need to have confidence when drawing straight line,so what you can do is make a very light horizontal line and and connect them with accuracy, don't just draw it fast also when you draw lines and even curves please rotate your paper to find the best angle to draw

    2.elipses

just like you draw straight line, you also need to ghost your elipses before you touch your pencil on the paper, and once you feel the elipses draw it

    3.perspective

1.where is your plotted perspective ??? (don't rush the lesson bro )

2.rough perspective (it looks okay but u havent finished the last part)

       3.where is rotated boxes ???

4.organic perspective (lines look inacurate and the boxes are out of perspective)

    Next Steps:

    2 super imposed lines

    2 ghosting lines

    1 rough perspective

    1 rotated boxes

    1 organic perspective

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

hey dobe2180! i'm koyomi and i'm going to review your lesson 1 submission.

    1.lines

your superimposed lines don't look straight enough, did you draw with your wrist ??? try using your shoulder and if it's still difficult why don't u put 2 dots with a ruler as horizontal line and then connect them just like you draw super imposed lines this will give u sense of straightness when drawing

    2.elipses

your elipses still look messy and i think if you wanna make a good elipses use your shoulder and do ghosting technique to draw elipses it's quite similar to how we draw straight linesbo

    3.boxes

your rotated boxes problem is they don't look rotated so i will tell u the key, it is find the vanishing points using your neighbouring edges, the vanishing points are located along the horizontal line, the more rotated the box the more vansihing points are getting closer to each other along the horizontal line

    Next Steps:

    1 super imposed lines

    1 ghosting lines

    1 elipses

    1 rotated boxes

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

hello brother would you like also to give critique to my 250 boxes lesson ?? https://drawabox.com/community/submission/LVP3J18 and thank you so much for giving a time to take a look at my boxes

    3:22 AM, Monday March 7th 2022

bro you need to extend the line to find the vanishing point anyway could you also take a look at my 250 boxes ??? https://drawabox.com/community/submission/LVP3J18

Steven Zapata's Secrets of Shading

Some of you will have noticed that Drawabox doesn't teach shading at all. Rather, we focus on the understanding of the spatial relationships between the form we're drawing, which feeds into how one might go about applying shading. When it comes time to learn about shading though, you're going to want to learn it from Steven Zapata, hands down.
