Hi PIBBUN! I'll be critiquing your work today!

    LINES

    Superimposed lines:

Your lines were fraying on both ends on the first page, but I see that you corrected that on the second one.

The lines don't wobble that much which is good.

Keep at it, you're on the right track!

Ghosted Lines: Looking good. Nice accuracy too!

    Ghosted Planes:

I see that you went over some lines to correct them. I don't know if you were rushing or encountered some other problem during this exercise, but what I can suggest is to take your time.

Ghost through the motion more if you need to until you feel confident then draw a single mark.

Part of the drawing process is being present and thinking through the steps you're going to take

Don't worry about accuracy, that will improve with more practice!

    ELLIPSES

    Table of ellipses:

These look so good, well done! Nice variety and consistency. It's good that you are drawing through them twice and fitting them snugly against the borders.

    Ellipses in planes:

Ellipses here are slightly deformed. While this is not the worst mistake, I do have to remind you to prioritize having a smooth and even elliptical shape. Take your time, don't rush and apply the ghosting method.

    Funnels:

Nice variety in width and size. Ellipses are aligned with the minor axis line.

All in all, a well-executed exercise.

    BOXES

    Plotted Perspective:

Nicely done, I don't see any major mistakes. The back edges sometimes end up not being perfectly perpendicular to the horizon line, to combat that, line your ruler more carefully.

    Rough Perspective:

Front and back faces of the boxes are rectangular and you applied line extensions correctly.

This exercise is executed well even if the convergence is a bit off; it's tough to nail down perfectly.

(after a year of Drawabox I sometimes still can't get all line extensions to converge, but I've gotten better)

If you want to improve on that, one thing that I do is take a different color pen and plot the boxes correctly to the vanishing point.

Doing this after completing the exercise allows you to visualize how the boxes should look like in 1 point perspective and lets you know what adjustment you need to make.

    Rotated Boxes:

Gaps are consistent, boxes are rotating well. Nice work!

    Organic Perspective:

I don't see any major issues besides doubled-up lines which I've touched on above.

Again, take your time and apply the ghosting method. I'm gonna refer you to the material in the lesson because I think you could benefit from re-reading it.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes, we all do & it's part of the learning process.

You're doing great! Hope you want to keep going cause I'm giving you the green light for the 250 Box Challenge! :)

    Next Steps:

Add these exercises to your warm-up pool.

Remember follow the 50% rule and have fun!

Hi! Thank you so much for the feedback! Here's my new page of arrows https://imgur.com/a/LtfC71h

(I reused a page from the construction exercise, hope the marks on the back are not too distracting)

Your work is solid. I agree with LeftRightLeftOver22's critique, though I'd like to add that the back faces of some boxes in the Rough Perspective exercise are not rectangular.

It's a small mistake but something to avoid in the future. Here's the link to the course material related to that.

Have fun with the 250 boxes!

You did great! The goal is not perfection, what is more important is that you improve. The new page looks better than the ones in the homework.

I give you the green light for the 250 box challenge.

    Next Steps:

Don't forget to add these exercises to your warm-up pool and follow the 50/50 rule.

    Have fun!

Hello! I'll be critiquing your work. To be honest this will probably be a short one, your homework looks great.

    LINES

You've got clean and confident lines and great accuracy. All exercises in this category are very well executed. Well done!

    ELLIPSES

Ellipses look smooth and have a consistent shape.

The funnels look great. I like the variety in ellipse size and width.

    BOXES

Nice perspective on the Rotated and Organic exercises, you're really good at estimating rotations :)

I have nothing more to say except great work!

I'm marking this lesson as complete and you can move on to the 250 Box Challenge.

    Next Steps:

Don't forget to add these exercises to your warm up pool.

    Have fun!

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
