thank you!! lots learned, lots still to learn.
thank you :)
hey!! thank you
also - good link to the uncomfortable comment. I'll try to remember that, thank you
thank you for the time you've spent to critique :) I'll bear all of this in mind as I continue - Edit: trying to be less defensive!
your video was really helpful for me - so thank you for that too! I think I was thinking about ghosting to a vp rather than the differences in between the converging lines, I'll try thinking on that in some warm ups during lesson 2.
I'd love to see more people with lil "other 50%" sketchbooks. it's cool seeing the stream of work people put in the discord but a body of work from each person would be so awesome to find artists you vibe with.
Erica I'm just here to say thank you for the Y-generator - such a great app. I'll definitely be using it to get my intuitive understanding up for the first 50 boxes or so.
Thank you Rob,
I solemnly swear i will continue to practice ellipses in my warm ups to the box challenge, and to try to prioritise smooth undeformed shapes over accuracy!
I'm gonna need more paper!
thanks man! the kiwis are the first time I've felt like goauche and i are becoming friends... then the peas happened...
its a sheep skull i found on a walk last year... love it but wowa was it a toughie to draw.
thanks for taking the time to have a look, appreciated ????
upload it into my sketchbook on here? that's a good idea! maybe i can have a 'the other 50%' album on imgur
This recommendation is really just for those of you who've reached lesson 6 and onwards.
I haven't found the actual brand you buy to matter much, so you may want to shop around. This one is a "master" template, which will give you a broad range of ellipse degrees and sizes (this one ranges between 0.25 inches and 1.5 inches), and is a good place to start. You may end up finding that this range limits the kinds of ellipses you draw, forcing you to work within those bounds, but it may still be worth it as full sets of ellipse guides can run you quite a bit more, simply due to the sizes and degrees that need to be covered.
No matter which brand of ellipse guide you decide to pick up, make sure they have little markings for the minor axes.
