Hey Ayazj, I'm JanaIsDrawing and today I will be reviewing your submission. First of all really big congrats on finishing lesson 1, It is a huge accomplishment! I will be leaving notes for each of the exercises below.
Superimposed Lines:
Fraying is just present at the end for the straight lines, as expected, however the curves show fraying at both ends but that's the nature of more difficult strokes. This can be mitigated by not rushing when placing down the pen. There are a few lines that appear to have their direction corrected which results in some wobbling, but for the most part the lines are executed with confidence and they look good. Well done!
Ghosted Lines:
Your lines are mainly confident with minimal wobbling, this is very well executed! There is only one line where I see a duplication, in this course we don't redo our lines, to keep in mind for the future. As for the overshooting or undershooting, your accuracy on hitting the points will improve as you use this exercise during future warm-ups, so nothing to worry about here!
Ghosted Planes:
Really impressive plane variation and use of page space, the lines are executed confidently and already way less wobbling than before. However just as before I have to mention that we shouldn't redo our lines in attempt to fix our mistakes, i know it's frustrating to see mistakes, but it will get easier to cope with since mistakes are the only way to learn and identify our weaknesses.
Tables of Ellipses:
You've correctly made use of the space in the tables to lay out as many ellipses as possible, all ellipses are drawn through 2-3 times, great job! However they are not always evenly shaped or smooth in the case of the smaller ones. I struggled with ellipses the most in Lesson 1, so I would suggest engaging your whole arm for the shoulder even for the smaller ellipses, and while it can go against our nature even more than usual, a well executed ghosting method will improve them.
Ellipses in Planes + Funnels:
You've continued to show the same patterns as in the tables exercise, but you've clearly understood the assignements otherwise and besides getting better at ghosting with practice I see no mistakes, you are touching all sides or borders and drawing through multiple times. Great job!
Plotted Perspective:
A few of the vertical lines aren't parallel and this would be remedied by taking more time when placing down the ruler. Otherwise the line extensions are well places and the exercise looks good.
Rough Perspective
This is one of the trickiest areas of lesson 1, so I have to commend that the extensions are correctly placed and you've consistently demonstrated that you are plotting your points as well as possible, in order to make the planes parallel. The exercise is well executed, with just the notes as mentioned before about not redoing our lines and also engaging our whole arm during ghosting.
Rotated Boxes:
Your vanishing points are moving as you rotate your box, your spacing is tight and all the boxes and corners are complete. This is considered to be the hardest exercise of Lesson 1, and you did a really awesome job here!
Organic Perspective:
Here right off the bat I want to say that I can notice that you've understood the assignment and the boxes are well constructed for the most part, with consistent divergence. A few boxes are leaning into more dramatic forshortening, and that should be avoided in order to make the space feel more real, as if all boxes are together in that space. Otherwise just the same points about ghosting and correcting the lines.
With that being said, you're ready to move on! Keep up the good work!
Next Steps:
Move onto the 250 Boxes Challenge!
Add the lesson 1 exercises to your warm-up pool and don't forget your 50% rule :D
