Thanks, Dio. Just want to say this was really, really helpful on review. Especially the draw overs really make clear the opps I was missing and how to fix it!

Thanks, Dio! This feedback (esp w/ labeled critique) is SO helpful. I'm still struggling on the form intersection side of things which is why the legs are tripping me up. I'm also definitely working on rolling with the forms not matching the photo and building around them. I think the examples of the construction around the leg and head helped a lot.
Anyway, here's a take again at the exercises, and with the correct contour curves (my bad!)
Hey ThatOneMushroomGuy ! Thanks so much for all this specific feedback - especially on the arrows, I had not put 2 and 2 together that the hatching has to follow foreshortening.
And I'm embarassed I missed such a basic requirement on the assignment! Re-submitting with the leaves / branches page. This ended up being a lot more fun too. And spot on that more space made things feel a lot more fluid / easier.
Hopefully these are moving the right direction, but looking forward to hearing your feedback. Thanks again!
Thanks! I'll keep at it :)
Hey Tofu! Thank you for all this detailed feedback - I've tried to redo the arrows and sausages and am definitely noticing the difference (still struggling w/ consistency on the arrow width).
Looking back at submission, I completely see me falling off the ghosting and regressing back to drawing from my wrist - especially on the form intersection exercise. I'm still struggling to get the intersections and think distracted me back to bad habits. I tried doing more warmups with the basic line exercises but even with that it took a lot of tries to get a version without some regressions. I still don't think I have the intersections down, but hopefully the line making is looking better. Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks again!
Hi Rob - thanks so much for the feedback! And I think you are right about the falling back on wrist movement. I wasn't really conscious of it, but after reading this I caught my self doing that a couple times. Will keep an eye out as I start knocking out the boxes. Thanks again!
Marco Bucci's got a ton of great courses available on proko.com, including some of the best videos you can find on using colour and light. Since a lot of our students want to break into working with digital painting however, I thought this course in particular would be a great start to get into the weeds with how to navigate the confusing world of layers, brushes, and more.
This course highlights programs across the full spectrum of options, ranging from the current industry standard Adobe Photoshop, to the Free-and-Open-Source darling Krita, as well as the mobile favourite, Procreate.
