I think I need some more practice with lesson 1 basics to help my physical mark making consistency. Additionally, I'm going to focus on being mindful of "one step at a time, what is immediately in front of us, rather than several steps away".

Thanks for helping me to clarify this.

Thanks for the prompt feedback. :)

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for how best to practice more careful mark making?

I'm a husband and dad with a full time job and pretty severe ADHD to boot. Slowing down and focusing is easily my biggest challenge, which is why a fundamentals course built on concrete exercises and repetition was so appealing to begin with.

I'm really happy with how Drawabox has helped me to develop my overall drawing skill.

Great application of perspective. It also has a whimsy to it that engages the imagination. Good job.

Love this. Great job giving each bunny its own personality, it really brings the image alive. Is the sleeping one a little dog?

Thanks again, for the timely feedback.

You're right that I did this fairly quickly. I'll do my best to work on my pacing and deliberation, which are chronic problem areas of mine. One big thing I want to take away from Drawabox is greater ability to apply discipline consistently over a long period of time.

I'll keep an eye on future cylinders wrt to your feedback. The ones on the left and right of the revisions page I envisioned as slanting conic sections rather than cylinders, which is more of my overcomplicating things.

I've been drawing for decades but it's been just under a year since I started Drawabox. I see and feel the improvement everytime I sit down to draw. Thank you so much for all the work you do.

After a few false starts over the past four months I finally managed enough consistency to meaningfully produce more boxes. I ended up doing more than 30 over the past week, only because after I got to fifteen I felt I needed more practice. I've also been doing ghosted planes exercises this past week to improve my line confidence.

For a variety of reasons maintaining consistency over time is extra difficult for me. Learning to draw well has been a lifelong dream and I want to keep at it even if my progress is unusually uneven.

Ok, this should have all of them.

Marshall Vandruff's Perspective Course

Marshall Vandruff's Perspective Course

Marshall Vandruff is a ubiquitous name in art instruction - not just through his work on the Draftsmen podcast and his other collaborations with Proko, but in his own right. He's been teaching anatomy, gesture, and perspective for decades, and a number of my own friends have taken his classes at the Laguna College of Art and Design (back around 2010), and had only good things to say about him. Not just as an instructor, but as a wonderful person as well.

Many of you will be familiar with his extremely cheap 1994 Perspective Drawing lectures, but here he kicks it up to a whole new level.
