I usually spend 5 to 15 minutes warming up.
I really don't know how long rotated boxes took me, I did it in several times... but maybe in 15 minutes it's doable with some practice :-)
Next time, I'll time!

Thank's Benj for critiquing my old work!
Thank's for the tips!
I've redone on a single page some lesson 1 homework. With bounds for the table of ellipses ;-)
Rotated boxes is very hard! This is only my 2nd attempt, I'll have to redo it more often...
I agree with Loopylizard!
Some points :
If your ghosted lines are curved, it's a sign that you are drawing from your wrist (or elbow), try to block your wrist.
For your ellipses, you may slow down a little and ghost more...
Congratulations Vuith and good luck for the boxes!
Great channel! I will definitely take lessons there when I get to lesson 6 (I'm currently in lesson 4) ...
I agree with BenJ, really great job!
Good luck for the boxes!
You've already done a great work on this site, creating such a valuable tool for the community! Good luck for what follows...
Hi Tem,
Good work! Here is a short critique (other members of the community can developp if they wish...):
Lines
You've done a great work, precise and confident.
Ellipses
Great job but you have to increase your acuracy. You may perhaps slow down a little and especially don't forget to ghost before drawing it's very useful! Remember than each side must be tangent to the ellipse.
Boxes
Nice work that will have the opportunity to improve during the 250 box challenge...
Very nice try on rotated boxes!
Next Steps:
Next the 250 box challenge!
Remember to repeat lines and ellipses exercises during warmup during this challenge!
You may need to focus on ghosting more before drawing your ellipses.
Remember that the main thing is to draw confident lines: If it's wobbly, speed up! If it's not accurate, slow down! If you struggle at it, ghost more! ;-)
Congratulations! :-)
Hi Loopylizard,
It's good that you have developed the critique for the rotated boxes! Mine was quite short...
Lines:
Your superimposed lines are a little wobbly and quite precise. So you can therefore increase your speed to have more confident lines even this decreases the accuracy. Your ghosted lines are quite good.
Ellipses:
Here there is no wobbling but a lack of accuracy, you have to slow down and don't forget to ghost before drawing! Some times you forget to draw each ellipse 2 or 3 times (not just 1!).
Rough Perspective:
Good work, quite accurate!
Rotated Boxes:
Good job, this one is a difficult exercise
Organic Perspective:
Not always correct but you will work on that (and improve) during the 250 box challenge
Next Steps:
Now the 250 box challenge (if 2 people agree)!
Remember to redo lesson 1 exercises during warmup!
Don't forget ghosting before drawing your lines and ellipses and to do 2 or 3 turns per ellipse.
Also, draw confident lines: if it's wobbly speed up, if it's not accurate slow down ;-)
Congratulations! :-)
all students are subject to a minimum of 2 weeks before submitting the next lesson's homework.
I'm afraid you'll have to wait 2 weeks since 250 box challenge is considered the next lesson ;-)
Stan Prokopenko's had been teaching figure drawing as far back as I can remember, even when I was just a regular student myself. It's safe to say that when it comes to figure drawing, his tutelage is among the best.
