    Yes Yes Yes!

Your rotated boxes look much better. And the lines look good to. I can really see an improvement there.

    Next Steps:

You can now proceed to the 250 box challenge.

But don't forget to draw for yourself as mentioned in Lesson 0. I would recommend you also do some critiques. Here's a quick guide for doing critiques by Elodin: https://pastebin.com/dYnFt9PQ

    Hi!

Your lines look pretty confident and smooth. The elipses look also nice and confident. Some of them aren’t kept in the bounds. I would suggest you add exercises like funnels or ghosted planes to your warm-up. In the rough perspective exercise you have some mistakes witch perspective, but you should not worry about this as you will train perspective in the 250 box challenge.

In the rotated boxes exercise I noticed that your boxes aren’t really rotating. Here's what I mean:

Ps: I don't know what happend in the next steps section. I meant that you should do the rotated boxes exercise again.

    Next Steps:

You would recommend that you do the rotated boxes exercise again. But overall good job!

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

    Hi!

Your superimposed lines look good. Most of the ghosted lines are also pretty smooth, some of them arch a little bit. You can fix that by actively arching in the opposite direction.

In the ghosted planes exercise you have sometimes corrected the lines. Don’t do that, just leave the lines as they are no matter how off they are.

Some of your ellipses overlap. Try to keep them in the bounds. I would suggest for you to add exercises like funnels in your warm-up.

In the rough perspective exercise you have some wobbly lines in your boxes. You should focus on confidence in you lines and accuracy will come later.

In the organic perspective exercise you have some mistakes in perspective, but that’s completely normal and you will practice perspective in the 250 box challenge.

    Next Steps:

    Congrats on finishing Lesson 1!

You can now tackle the 250 box challange.

Don't forget to warm up before your session and don't forget to draw for yourself!

Your lines look good overall. In the ghosted line exercise your lines get a bit wobbly. Just remember that confidence is more important than accuracy.

Ellipses look smooth and confident. But don’t neglect them in your warm-up.

In the rough perspective exercise you have some mistakes in perspective, but it’s nothing to worry about because you will work on this in the 250 box challenge.

    Well done!

I didn't really notice that my lines got a bit wobbly. So thanks a lot for pointing that out.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
