Hi overall good job and congrats finishing first lesson :)

    Lines

Lines are good, though as you said some of your lines arch a bit ;)

    Ellipses

Ellipses are a bit wobbly at times and some of them aren't as confident as others. Remember that in ellipses as well as lines you should try to do them as confident as you can, don't hesitate in sacrificing accuracy to get them smoother and more confident.

Also you did good job in funnels( minor axis cuts ellipses in halves).

    Boxes

In rotated boxes the gap between boxes should be narrow and consistent. And you could add additional weight to make picture clearer.

Also in both rotated boxes and organic boxes exercises your main issue is perspective, which is completely fine, as you'll work on it in 250 boxes challenge.

Good job overall and keep it up ;)

    Next Steps:

    Next Steps:

Continue to use these exercises as part of your warm ups (about 10-15 minutes)

Feel free to move onto the 250 box challenge

Don’t forget to take breaks and draw for fun!

Also, now that you’ve completed Lesson 1, I encourage you to critique some Lesson 1 community submissions. Not only will this help the community, but it will also solidify and reinforce your understanding of the material. Of course, this is optional (but we’d be especially grateful!). If you’d like to give it a shot, see this guide that was created by one of our community members on how to go about critiquing Lesson 1.

Hi overall good job and congrats finishing first lesson :)

    Lines

Lines are lookinggood overall, though you have some long ones that are arching a bit. This can happen because you might not be using your shoulder as your main pivot so check you're doing it. Another thing that can help to fix this is to try to arch consciously to the the opposite side when drawing the lines.

    Ellipses

Ellipses are a bit wobbly at times. Remember that in ellipses as well as lines you should try to do them as confident as you can, don't hesitate in sacrificing accuracy to get them smoother and more confident.

Also good job on funnels(minor axis cuts ellipses in halves).

    Boxes

On boxes I can see you're repeating a lot of lines. No matter how off a line is, don't repeat it as it'll make the drawing messier.

In rotated boxes and organic perspective you missed perspective in some boxes, which is completely fine, as you'll work on it in 250 boxes challenge.

Good job overall. Be specially careful about the repetition of lines as it's something you're doing a lot, as well as the wobbly lines that you sometimes do.

Hi overall good job and congrats finishing first lesson :)

    Lines

Lines are looking p good overall.

    Ellipses

Ellipses are fine too, though they do get a bit wobbly, so don't forget that in ellipses as well as lines you should try to do them as confident as you can, don't hesitate in sacrificing accuracy to get them smoother and more confident.

    Boxes

    Boxes are looking p good.

Rough perspective good job on keeping horizontal lines parallel and vertical lines perpendicular to the horizon.

In Rotated boxes and organic perspective you missed perspective in some boxes, which completely fine, and nothing to worry about, as you'll work on it in 250 boxes challenge.

Overall good job and keep it up ;)

    Hi ;)

Your post is missing rough perspective, rotated boxes and organic perspective exercises.

Hi congrats finishing first lesson ;)

Lines and ellipses are looking p good, though ellipses are a bit wobbly, so don't forget to keep working on them. Also in funnels minor axis cuts ellipses cuts them in halves, good job.

Rough perspective good job keeping horizontal lines parallel and vertical lines perpendicular to the horizon.

In organic perspective you missed perspective in couple of boxes, which is completely fine, as you'll work on it in 250 boxes challenge.

Last thing I can catch is that you're repeating some of your lines, remember no matter how off the line is don't repeat it, this will make your drawing messier.

Overall good job and keep it up ;)

Hi overall good job and congrats finishing first lesson :)

    Lines

Lines are a little bit wobbly, especially in boxes don't forget that you should focus on smooth and confidence over accuracy right now.

    Ellipses

Ellipses are wobbly and not really confident. Remember that in ellipses as well as lines you should try to do them as confident as you can, don't hesitate in sacrificing accuracy to get them smoother and more confident.

    Boxes

On boxes I can see you're repeating a lot of lines. No matter how off a line is, don't repeat it as it'll make the drawing messier.

On rotated boxes, some of your boxes weren't actually rotating, careful with that. Also you could apply line weight to make picture more clear.

Also in both rotated boxes and organic perspective you missed perspective which is completely normal, as you'll work on it in 250 boxes challenge.

Good job overall. Be specially careful about the repetition of lines as it's something you're doing a lot, as well as the wobbly lines that you sometimes do.

    Next Steps:

In order to mark this lesson as complete I'd need you to do the following:

    - 1 page of planes and ellipses.

    - 1 page of tables of ellipses.

    - 1 page of ghosted lines.

I'll be waiting good luck ;)

The Art of Blizzard Entertainment

The Art of Blizzard Entertainment

While I have a massive library of non-instructional art books I've collected over the years, there's only a handful that are actually important to me. This is one of them - so much so that I jammed my copy into my overstuffed backpack when flying back from my parents' house just so I could have it at my apartment. My back's been sore for a week.

The reason I hold this book in such high esteem is because of how it puts the relatively new field of game art into perspective, showing how concept art really just started off as crude sketches intended to communicate ideas to storytellers, designers and 3D modelers. How all of this focus on beautiful illustrations is really secondary to the core of a concept artist's job. A real eye-opener.
