I think I only added on to each drawing using masses and sausages, I'm not sure if I wrapped each form around the initial sphere correctly, but i tried shaping them around the initial forms
I'm still working on my animal constructions, but I wanted to ask how long each should take. I have been spending around 15 minutes to 30 minutes to finish each construction, and I'm worried that this is too fast. I'm not rushing, I want to take longer. but eventually, I don't know what other forms to add to the construction. and, adding more forms onto forms I already drew eventually makes the drawing less clear.
hello, I ended up taking a break from drawabox, however I finished the revisions
I stopped hatching to show shading, focusing just on the shadow shapes and texture. I'm not sure if I conveyed the texture correctly. I also tried to avoid just going over the silhouette lines to convey new forms, I tried to draw entire new 3D shapes for each addition, but I feel like it looks unclear/too messy.
I completed my revisions, I still have some questions about texture
Looking at the leaf texture example and the daisy demo on the site, there are some textures that I'm having a hard time trying to replicate. For example, on the daisy demo, there's cast shadows and groups of lines that fade away. I tried doing that on my first mushroom drawing, and tried again with a new mushroom for the revisions. I still feel like I'm not fully understanding the texture and what "shape" to use, like lines vs. dots vs. a "shadow shape" thats fully filled in with black. I tried using a lot less fully black shadows too.
Here are my revisions, I focused on having more planned out lines that were ghosted.
I had the form intersections be in between the silhouettes this time, but am still not entirely sure how you are supposed to decide the shape of the form intersections.
I did 5 boxes per day instead of 10, here are my new boxes.
Here are my new 30 boxes. I tried making the boxes bigger, including hatching, and extending the lines away from the viewer.
Okay, thank you. I've started the extra boxes, should I include line extensions like during the challenge?
Hello, I'm a little confused by what you mean by "placing the vanishing point between the viewer and your boxes."
Should all the vanishing points be off the page, to create slow convergence? I'm trying to get all of the lines to meet at one vanishing point, but it's difficult to do with an "invisible" vanishing point that is not on the page, especially for the lines "inside" the box (the ones that are visible with "x-ray vision.")
Thank you! I went back and reviewed the previous lessons and focused on making more confident lines, putting in more effort into ghosting marks. I am not sure if my lines still appear very wobbly, but this is my revision of ghosted planes without ellipses.
I've used a ton of different drawing and painting software over the course of my career, so I can say with confidence that what CSP offers is impressive.
The software is designed around drawing and painting, and it really shows. The brush engine is extremely dynamic, capturing a wide variety of stroke types and effects, making it easy to emulate traditional media if that's what you're after, while still being able to create very polished digital-style graphics.
It also provides a variety of features to make your life easier on a wide variety of projects - from speech bubble and framing tools for comics, to perspective and ellipse guides, to bringing in 3D assets to streamline the production process, to multi-page files, and more. At every turn, it puts the control in your hands, so you can focus on what it is you want to create.
