I made sure to sit down with a coffee before reading this, haha!

You're a star, thank you for such a thorough critique (I have many imgur tabs open haha), I really appreciate it. I'll be sure to go through this again before making a start on lesson 5!

    Cheers!! :D

Sorry for the delayed response - I can only work on DAB sporadically due to time!

OK! I'll be sure to include 2-3 boxes in my future warmups.

    Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for your feedback! It's greatly appreciated. Here's the 20 boxes with different rates of foreshortening and lineweight!

This was way more challenging! In my previous attempts I would complete 15 boxes in an hour, whereas with these it took me an hour to do 5, haha! I admittedly did keep my lines parallel- I should have gone through the source material again to refresh my memory.

Do you think it's a good idea for me to tackle the 250 box challenge again? I really want to grasp 3D space and perspective. I wouldn't mind doing it again! I think it'd help me have more discipline/not rush.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback & critique!! :D I haven't had a chance to draw for a week or so but have began picking at the 250 box challenge. :) Will get back on it tomorrow!

    Thanks again!

The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something I've used myself. If you're interested, here is a full list.
PureRef

PureRef

This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.

When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.

Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
