congrats! you have finished and can continue to the 250 boxes challenge.

    Next Steps:

your next step is the 250 boxes challenge!

remember to ghost your lines draw from the shoulder and put points before drawing the line

also, this site needs more reviewers so if you have some free time you can read this guide: https://pastebin.com/dYnFt9PQ and start reviewing

Lastly when you complete a review, it shows some already done reviews that need agreeing. With 2 agrees, you allow the lesson to be marked as complete. You can also go to the submission page and give some agrees on there

    Thanks if you consider it

you will get your completion badge when 2 people will agree to this review

Congrats J91ART for completing the exercises for lesson 1. Here's my critique:

    lines:

your lines are not bad there is a bit of wooble but it will get better with practice remember to draw them with the shoulder and ghost before putting them

    ellipses

your ellipses are great smooth and not going beyond the bounds great job

    boxes

your boxes are awesome! your work shows that you have a very good understanding of perspective probably it's not your first attempt... however it's look like you were using a ruler in your work so i can't accept that and you should redo all the work you did with a ruler. however great job!!

    Next Steps:

redo the work you did with a ruler (rough perspective, ????) If this is not done with a ruler take it as a compliment.

Congrats WILLYMYSON for completing the exercises for lesson 1. Here's my critique:

    lines

i have nothing bad to say about them! they are great! even your super imposed lines are better than most of the people so congrats! your lines are not going exactly to the dots but you know it's dose not need to be 100% accurate in this level but they are smooth and straight

    ellipses

they are smooth and you are going through them few times and they are touching their bounds good job! now, a word about funnels you did a great job by keeping the ellipses smooth and following their bounds however the minor axis (the line in the middle) should cut ellipses in 2 symetrical halves. but your minor axis in few of the funnels are not in the middle of the ellipses i would suggest you to try to put the middle line again but now in the middle of the funnel or just do another page of them

    boxes

you are drawing through boxes and that is good but your plotted perspective exercise the lines that should be perpendicular to horizon are a bit "dancing" i guess like are not so straight but that ok because this is not the purpose of the exercise but keep an eye on that your rough perspective exercise is mainly good but it's look like you are trying to correct your lines by drawing them again and that is not good just remember to not do this again your rotated boxes exercise: first of all you didn't even finished it (you have the far corners to do) so finish it and reply to this comment with the link also i will suggest you to read again this part: https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/16/step7 that will help you to draw them your organic perspective exercise is full of perspective mistakes but that is very nromal and will be coreccted when you wiil do the 250 boxes challenge

    have a good day!

    Next Steps:

finish the rotated boxes exercise than i will mark your lesson as complete

my question was if 1 VP can be more dramtic/shallow form the others or it's the same in all the VP but i think i figured it out by my own cuz that what 2 point perspective is, 1 point is 100% shallow and the others are not

Congrats radi for completing the exercises for lesson 1. Here's my critique:

    lines:

your super imposed lines are great! all the lines loosing their direction only in 1 side of the lines

your ghosted lines and planes are quite smooth and they not loosing direction to much

    ellipses

your ellipses in tables are good, mainly smooth and following the boundries they are putting to each other the same is in your ellipses in planes, great job!

now, a word about funnels you did a great job by keeping the ellipses smooth and following their bounds however the minor axis (the line in the middle) should cut ellipses in 2 symetrical halves. but your minor axis in few of the funnels are not in the middle of the ellipses i would suggest you to try to put the middle line again but now in the middle of the funnel

    boxes

so your boxes are mainly good however few notes for the future:

    • Repeating lines. No matter how off a line is, a student should never repeat it, they should kept the line as it if were correct and move on

    • On rough perspective, width lines should be parallel to horizon and height lines perpendicular to horizon.

    • i see in your rough perspective exercise your lines have more wooble compare to your other exercise remember that In drawabox you should always prioritize confidence over accuracy.

    have a good day!

    Next Steps:

your next step is the 250 boxes challenge!

remember to ghost your lines draw from the shoulder and put points before drawing the line

Congrats der gute fisch for completing the assignad exercises for lesson 1. Here's my critique:

    lines

I see fraying on both ends in the a part of the superimposed lines exercise. This means that you didn't take the time to reposition your pen on the starting point, but it's only a bit so thats ok. There is a bit of wobble maybe you should try to make your lines faster but it's definitely in the expected range for the lesson.

your ghosted lines are pretty accurate and smooth good job!

    ellipses

so. your ellipses are a bit off part of your ellipses are deforming from the circular shape because you are trying to keep them in the bounds you need to remember that smoothness is more important than accuracy. and about funnels: it's look like you didn't understood what that the purpose of the exercise is to make you to try using minor axis but your middle lines in the "funnels" wasn't even the minor axis i will suggest you to redo it

    boxes

You overextended the lines in the rough perspective. They need to arrive to the horizon line, no less, no further. It looks messy otherwise.

your rotated boxes looks OK but few of tham are not realy rotating btu only moving in space you can see this mistake here but the other boxes shows you tried and did your best! so that's OK your organic perspective looks ok but you didn't apply any forshorting for some of the boxes do i will suggest you to take a look on the boxes session and the perspective notes again. On rough perspective, width lines should be parallel to horizon and height lines perpendicular to horizon.

This is a hard task but this is important to keep in mind.

    have a great day!

    Next Steps:

do another page of funnels this time the minor axis need to be exactly in the middle of the two arcing lines (where it should be) and read the exercise notes carefully and And remember that smoothness is more important than accuracy after you finished please put the link down below so i could mark your lesson as complete

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

i think you need to look for the reason why you want to redo it if it's because you want to get to perfection so it's grinding but if it's not your reason but you feel you didn't do the exercise do it again. but if this time (after you read all the instructions carefully) you also feel you need to redo it it's grinding. about the thing you mention that you have more space from the last exercise you can look at the homework example it's need to be around the same amount of let's say boxes and whatever

    have a good day!

    lines

So your lines are pretty good. Smooth and quite accurate there is only a bit of wobble well done!

    ellipses:

Sometimes there is a bit of a deviation from their round shape but in general they are pretty good parts and you draw through the ellipses a few times but in the funnel the minor axis is not equal in all your ellipses I would recommend doing this again

    Boxes:

In general they are good, you draw through the boxes and it seems you have an understanding of perspective. In the rough perspective the width and height lines are not exactly accurate ( width lines should be parallel to horizon and height lines should be perpendicular to horizon. ) it is hard but it is important that you pay attention to it. besides everything looks good

I hope I was helpful. Have a good day!

    Next Steps:

You should do the 250 box challenge as this will help with the issues you experienced (like everyone) with the organic perspective exercise.

Sakura Pigma Microns

Sakura Pigma Microns

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
