Overall, good job. I'd recommend paying attention to two things: your line weight and keeping your lines tight as you draw through your ellipses.

    Next Steps:

Lesson 2, keeping in mind use of line weight and tight ellipses.

I would recommend doing another page of the branches excercise, making sure to draw the lines confidently and keeping in mind the minor axis when you draw the ellipse. It's something I have trouble with as well.

    Next Steps:

Another page of the branches exercise

Hi! First, I'm super impressed by your rotated boxes exercise. It seems like you've got the concept of it down!

Looking at the lines that you drew in the earlier exercises, I'd definitely recommend ensuring you pay attention to the point where the line is supposed to end--you tend to overshoot the line a little bit. I have the opposite problem; I tend to stop before hitting the end point, but I'm sure we'll both get better with practice!

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
