Aw, it looks so lonely. It just want friend :(

This is a nice piece of art. I really like how instead of drawing a monster staring off into space like I did, you drew a dynamic scene, showing the creature actually doing something in a way that tells a story, one with a few paths. I also want to point out that you have some damn good grass skills shown off in the background, I wish I could see some more of it scattered throughout the scene.

Holy Cheeseballs dude! This is wicked! The color, the posing, it all looks so professional, and your lore for it is great. This makes me want to learn how to color!(and it makes me want to draw more so I can get this good lol)

Wooah man, this is awesome, you really nailed this prompt. I really like how you incorporated the plant aspects in as much as possible, and now I want to redesign my sketch with that in mind, I added in like one plant aspect and went "ez game, all done" and now seeing your take, I'm realizing there's so much potential to this prompt I didn't consider. Great job! This is inspiring work that I feel sets a good example for Flora is Fauna.

P.S. I really want to see the crazy big dragon version now lol

Ooooooh, I like this. They lure you and and WHAM! It reminds me of that creature in dark souls 2(or was it skyrim?) that would hang it's long tongue done and wait for you to walk into it, and snatch you up drag you into the ceiling to be devoured.

Pokemon needs to get on this right now! I didn't know it before, but now I need me a hedgehog grass starter! If you want another prompt, try sketching out some evolutions! Love this drawing!

First off, I hate you for showing this to me.

Second off, you clearly have a great understanding of color, perspective, and framing, much better than me at the very least. You clearly put a lot of work into art and it shows very well.

Final comment: This art feels like something straight out of a beastiary, what I like most is that you drew it mid hunt, about to catch a prey, and that's what I love seeing most from concept art. Creatures actually doing something and not just staring off into the distance are so much more interesting, and it tells the viewer so much more about what this creature is, it's personality, and it's mannerisms. From what I've seen, the artists that understand this always go the furthest, so keep at it!

If you haven't already, there's a great documentary called Eye of the Beholder, the art of dungeons and dragons that you should check out. They bring on some legends from the 80s that drew for dragon magazine, and they go in depth about this exact topic, dynamic creatures.

Sorry if this commented twice. Anyways I really like this drawing, Good job! It makes me think of an alternate reality where the plants suddenly turned on us, and the bees are a great touch for worldbuilding. This really is some good concept art.

This reminds me of a certain flash game about killing a certain boss that got me in trouble back in the day.

Looks like someone here is an office war veteran. I remember seeing these back in school, but with pencils instead of paper wads(kids are pyschopaths)

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

On the flipside, they tend to be on the cheaper side of things, so if you're just getting started (beginners tend to have poor pressure control), you're probably going to destroy a few pens - going cheaper in that case is not a bad idea.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
