Thanks for the reply! I am trying to find a way to keep myself engaged. I absolutely hate the process of drawing, so I am trying to find ways to keep myself going. These tips are incredibly helpful, thanks for the advice.

If your lines are wobbly, you are hesitating or you are still unsure where the stroke will end. If the line is straight but inaccurate, all you need to do is continue practicing. If it faints before reaching the point, you are lifting the pen/reducing pressure before it reaches the end point or using the pen at an angle.

Go over lesson 1 again, they talk more about this in more detail.

Your submission is not for the official critique track, so it is possible you won't get one at all. You do not need to wait for a gracious stranger to pass you to move on as you are following the free track. If you would prefer to have someone critique you more reliably, you should pay the $5 for an official critique to give you proper advice on what you should be focusing on.

But, if you really want to wait for someone to critique it, do 2-3 of the homework exercises as warmups around a 15 min time limit and the 50% rule in the meantime. Additionally, you can do other courses or look at instructional drawing books to learn techniques from other resources. Draw-a-Box does not teach everything, you should shop around to see what you like. But, most importantly if you are going to use another resource, stick with it to see what works and doesn't work for you.

For the exercises that I will show for homework, I do the same thing. For warmups and other things that I do not need to take a picture of, I just use the other side. For drawing purposes I do not find the bleeding impactful enough to mess up my drawing on the other side.

In the 250 box challenge section there isn't any contradicting information, so it should be the same.

There is a section that talks about line extension but part of it says to extend youir lines from the central point, it should be fine to follow the corners or edges as long as you commit to one or the other.

There are as some examples at the end of some of the lesson 1's box section and the 250 box challenge. Make sure to draw from your shoulder and do it freehand.

In lesson one, Uncomfortable goes over this question.

Yes it is an issue that you used a different colors for each box on the page. I believe the separate colors are so either for yourself or the person critiquing the boxes has a more clear understanding of how your lines are converging. However do not attempt to redo the lines you have already produced. Move on for now, and if you are doing official critique, the TA might give homework for those boxes if they cannot discern the convergence correctly from the confusing color scheme. But, you will be doing boxes in the later 150 section similar to the first 50, not the same but similar.

Orconomics by J. Zachary Pike

Orconomics by J. Zachary Pike

This is one of my favourite books. It's a fantasy-comedy romp, and the world that J. Zachary Pike has created honestly takes my breath away. There are laughs at every turn, but the story is not without its heart wrenching moments - some for which I have yet to fully forgive the author.

If you're at all curious about the kinds of nonsense I read, or just need something new to sink your teeth into, this is one I can highly recommend. On top of that, being self-published by an indie author, it's the kind of thing where your individual support can go a long way.

P.S: The audiobook, with narration from Doug Tisdale, is especially good, and elevates the story in ways I can't rightly describe.
