Ah yes sorry. It's more visible on this picture, then everything is fine.

Those shapes are better than in the first one, I think you can move on to lesson 3

    Next Steps:

You can move on to lesson 3, good luck !

Very good work, especially on the dissection, you must have spent a lot of time on it.

The contour line curves could have more variation in degree I think. Any way, all your exercises have been completed and pretty good as well.

I'd say you can move on to lesson 3, but be sure in the future to submit picture that are clear and non-blurry, and also, I'm pretty sure we are not supposed to use corrector, one of the reason we are using fineliner pen is because we can't hide or mistakes. So it's okay if you fuck up a line or something, it happens to everyone, just try to work with it or pretend it doesn't exist but keep it visible.

    Next Steps:

Like I said in the review, in the future try to submit clean, well centered, non-blurry picture, it makes it easier to critique. And no corrector ! Good luck on lesson 3

-Arrows are fine, try to be careful when doing the hatching or else it will be messy and hard to read.

-Organic contours ellipses are fine, I'd say tro to had some more variation in the degree of your ellipses. On the curve one your curves are often mis-aligned and you tend to overshoot a little, be sure to take your time to ghost, I know curves and ellipses are difficult so don't beat yourself up if you don't get it right until later.

-Texture analysis, you did what was asked, I'm sure if you keep going at it and analyse those textures in depth you'll get better at it.

-For the dissection exercice you want to apply the same texture techniques, which are implying the forme through cast shadow and silhouette, you don't want to draw contour lines and you don't want to work with symbols, try to remember that when doing those textures. I can see you tried to make the texture shift in perspective around the cylinder which is good

-Geometric form intersection is pretty good, like I said to other DaBbers out there, don't hesitate to jam them together, not just intersecting the corners but a wider part of the form.

-Organical form intersection is ok too, it's a bit hard to read which happens often with those exercises. I can see you avoided doing complex elongated shape which is nice. there is a few form that appears a bit flat, especially in the first one.

I think overall you did what was asked and I think you can move on to Lesson 3, but don't hesitate to rework some of those exercise I mentioned as warm-ups, specifically the contour lines curve and the organical form intersection. Force textures I think you can start working on the texture challenge a little bit here and their when you got time for it, this way you'll improve at understanding how texture works, but for now it's not mendatory.

    Next Steps:

As said in the review. You can move on to lesson 3 but be sure to work on the contour lines curve and organical form intersection as warm-ups.

The arrows, contour lines, texture analysis and intersections are pretty good. Same for the geometric intersections (try to be cautious with the cross hatching though.) However, the organic intersections lack volume, some of those sausages are straight up flat, so I'd say rework those, re-read the exercise page even to refresh your memory a bit, and really try to go for solid shape, that bend and fall but that are not deflated. Really try to think of them as sausages.

Also, I know it take some time and maybe it's a bit hard if you are quarantined but try to find the time to get a fineliner pen, I think it's pretty important to accomodate yourself to it.

    Next Steps:

2 filled pages of organic intersections, solid shape, like sausages. Fineliner if possible (it's fine if you don't have one but past this lesson it becomes important). You can send me a DM on the website once you submited your revision.

Hi, I'm gonna try to be concize and to give you good feedbacks. Here we go :

    Arrows

It's very good, I can see you were having fun. 2 pages were enough, no need to over do it.

    Organic form with contour lines

The basic forms are okay, the ellipses and curves could you use more variation in the degree, a bit mis-aligned some time as well. Be sure to work on this exercise as a warm-up in order to get those ellipses right.

    Texture Analysis

You did what was asked. Just keep on going at it from time to time to work towards that 25 texture challenge and as long as you do that and keep reading the articles / watching the videos on texture from time to time as refresehr you should get better, also I believe you can share those in the discord as you work your way forward.

    Dissections

These are pretty good, I can see you took your time to get those textures to wrap around the form and to get that silhouette like asked. Very solid work.

    Geometric intersections

Again, pretty solid work, don't be shy to really jam those forms inside each other, not just the corners.

    Organic intersections

Some of those forms are very complexe elongated/deflated, be sure to keep them simple, it will be easier to draw, and to read.

-I'd say pretty solid work overall, I'll just ask for you to rework those Organic intersections and once that's done you can send me a DM on discord #Sansh9385 if you want a fast review. And after that you'll be free to go play with mushrooms and leaves.

    Next Steps:

Has described in review, redo Organic intersections with simpler forms, not deflated. Think short sausages. And after that you can DM me and I'll give you instant review

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

    Organic arrows :

-Lines are a bit wobbly sometimes. Also, hatching on the arrows is sometime a bit messy, be sure to take your time.

-The Arrows exercise is not perfect, they still feel a bit flat. You did what was asked in the lesson by overlapping the edges and try to apply perspective. So I consider this exercise done but be sure to work on it as a warm-up before drawing sessions to keep getting better at it.

Organic forms with contour lines :

-Good work on the organic forms w/ contour lines. especially on the ellipses one, on the second page however some of those forms are a bit elongated on the ends. It's fine because the majority are good forms with spherical ends

-On the curve one you overshot some of those contour lines, do not rush and take the time to ghost your lines to have confident yet, accurate enough lines.

    Texture analysis :

-Very good work on those textures, I suppose the bottom one is the crumpled paper, it looks like it at least, would be useful in the future to give those textures names. But apart from that very good work, I wish my textures were this good.

    dissections :

-For the dissection exercise I often feel like the textures don't wrap around the form, and there is also a lot of scratchy scribbly lines that I'm not a fan of. If a texture has a lot of lines elements, like let's say the inside of a tree trunk, really try to think of these lines as cast shadows rather than lines, and take your time to really define these, even if it means doing less.

This exercise is not meant to be easy so it's fine if it's not good, but be sure to try it again in the future to see how you progressed.

    Intersections :

-For the geometric form intersections good work, just one note, only do one line when drawing straight edges like on a box for exemples. I can see some of those edges have two lines. It's just a small thing, other than that you did a good job.

-organic intersections : Good work on those shadows, again, some of those shapes are elongated. Really try to keep them simple.

    Next Steps:

I think you can move on to the next lesson, be sure to work on those arrows as warm-up. Secondly, take your time, work methodically and clean (not too much, you don't want to spend more time than is intended on those). Congrats you can move on to lesson 3 !

Thanks for the review, I already did the 250 boxes challenge, I know it doesn't really show because my boxes on the intersection were pretty bad. Well I guess I'll start reading lesson 3 while waiting for lesson 2 to be marked as complete.

Hi I took a look at your homework, and I don't think there is much to say here so I'm gonna be pretty short.

Overall it's very good, your lines are very clean and confident and the exercises were all well executed. Your ellipses look pretty good, they are not perfect but they are pretty good and they will keep on getting better with practice. I can see that you followed through the mouvement more than 2/3 times on some of thoses but that's ok since it's only on a few of these ellipses. Funnel exercise, again very good, the cross section goes right in the middle cutting those ellipses in half.

For the plotted perspective it's good but don't be lazy with the crosshatching (For exemple on the top boxes the crosshatching is good and then on the bottom ones I can feel you got bored and decided to wrap it up quickly, which is understandable, crosshatching can be pretty boring for most people) What I would say is see crosshatching as a way to reinforce your muscle memory, an opportunity to practice those straight lines, just like the rest, it's also good because you have to stay parallel or else it will look wanky which make you better at controlling the direction of your lines.

Rough perspective, nice projection of the lines, you got very close to the vanishing point on some of theses and your perspective check was well executed. However for the organic perspective I can tell on some of those boxes that rotating them is hard, but once you will do 250 boxes it should help you. Your lines are also very scratchy on this exercise, be sure to do your lines the same way you've been doing them since now, by ghosting your lines and then executing it in one single motion, and do not draw the same line multiple time or else they will look scratchy like here.

    Next Steps:

So yeah pretty good homework, make sure to keep on doing these lines like you were doing since now, don't be lazy while doing crass hatching, you can always take a break if you are able to keep in mind which side you wanted to cross-hatch.

You can move on to the 250 boxes challenge, be sure to ask for feedback often, and to analyse your boxes from the last sitting before each sitting that way you know what to keep an eye out for. Also make sure to make different shape of boxes, you don't have to do cubes, the boxes can be elongated.

For warm up I suggest doing the plane exercice and do an ellipse in it, you can even divide that plane in 4 or 8 and do multiple ellipses in it. And of course keep on drawing for fun on the side and don't hesitate to post your art in the discord to sahre it with us. good luck on the 250 boxes !
