    Hi SKEIK!

    Thank you so much to take your time looking my home work.

    1. "Your problem, as I see it, is that you're not considering the box as a whole and instead drawing each plane one at a time."

    I think that, i began to see the boxes mor as a whole as i was drawing my boxes. I will draw boxes every day until i get the hook. Will be in mines warm up routine.

    1. "Aside from that there's not too much variety here."

    I tried variety but failed...i will try improve that.

    1. "Try to think of practical uses of a box for drawing."

    That is a good advice...draw every day objects will help a lot.

    1. "Final thing, your line quality is definitely improving but you also have a tendency to pet your lines and overshoot your mark."

    I am more conscious about that, trying change tendency to do that. I already improve a lot since began DaB, will work harder in my lines.

    Thank you! Until next time!

    Hi man!

    I'm glad my critique was a good thing.

    Your lines are much better now. Your elipses and boxes as well. It's important comeback sometimes and read again the lessons.

    Good luck in 250 boxes challenge! I'm take my time doing the challenge, almost finish (192 boxes done).

    See you soon!

    You're welcome!

    I either know nothing about shading and i begin understand construction now. I just do 20 poses, 1 minute each...and do my best to capture the gesture. Then when i start learn anatomy - study of human body parts - and draw human body (figure drawing), my drawing wont be so stiff.

    About decide between gesture and nature...my suggest is watch the videos in the links in my previous post. I like both, cause a leaf, a petal have a gesture too..and they are very thin, much more easy to bend and twist. Gesture drawing apply the same principle of band and twist but in 3D.

    Here a link to my first try in gesture drawing and more recently ones...i'm far from being good, but improved a lot in only 3 months. http://imgur.com/a/8QbWeWA

    Good luck in your journey!

    I'm new in drawing too, and i spend my 50% of time doing gesture drawing. I'm not really into anatomy study, i'm just do gesture drawing trying to capture the motion, force and flow of a pose. After 3 months drawing gesture i become much better.

    Other thing i like to draw are flowers and leafs, not realistic flowers, but illustration.

    You can watch Proko's videos about gesture here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74HR59yFZ7Y&list=PLtG4P3lq8RHGuMuprDarMz_Y9Fbw_d2ws

    About flowers and nature drawing, John Muir Laws is my bet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50H7B-1w7Ws&list=PL-Lj3-2nfJsKJTpFNB5h96BcgswFv5pR4

    That is the way i have fun drawing!

    Hi man!

    First of all, congratulations for finish lesson 1!

    What i can tell you is what i see in my own homework. Your lines are wobbly, like mine...i sugest work on that. Come back and watch the videos with calm, read and analyse the diagrams.

    Your ellipses are wobbly too..ghost the ellipses before put the pen on the paper. Try to draw one near the other, and make your funnels more funnels. I think you need take your time with ellipses.

    The boxes need to improve a little, cause the lines are wobbly, with lack of confidance. Your plotted and rough perspective are good, in the matter of perspective. The rotated boxes are good for a first try. The organic perspective could be bigger contrast between the boxes.

    In general you have done a great job!

    Next Steps:

    2 pages of ghosted lines;

    2 pages of ghosted planes (that will help you make squares and boxes with more confiance - a good warm up too!);

    1 page of table of ellipses;

    1 page of ellipses funnels;

    1 page of organig perspective;

    Once you have finish, reply with your revisions, please!

    When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

    Hi Lordsagan

    Thanks for the advice. I'll remember that "accuracy doesn't matter a bit if you can't produce a smooth line." . And as you said, i come back and re-read and re-watched the lesson texts and videos.

    I'm already working in my lines, i'll become better!

    Thanks man!

    Hey!

    Thank you so much for take your time seen and reviewing my homework.

    I read carefully your words about the things i have to improve, and i feel so glad that my elipses and boxes are good enough for a beginner.

    My lines are a work in process, i'm trying to change my mindset about accuracy. For that reason, will take my time and do every day theses exercises as my warm up, but with much more conscious about every stroke.

The Art of Blizzard Entertainment

While I have a massive library of non-instructional art books I've collected over the years, there's only a handful that are actually important to me. This is one of them - so much so that I jammed my copy into my overstuffed backpack when flying back from my parents' house just so I could have it at my apartment. My back's been sore for a week.

The reason I hold this book in such high esteem is because of how it puts the relatively new field of game art into perspective, showing how concept art really just started off as crude sketches intended to communicate ideas to storytellers, designers and 3D modelers. How all of this focus on beautiful illustrations is really secondary to the core of a concept artist's job. A real eye-opener.
