    Hi Uncomfortable,

Thank you so much for your critique. As always, you provide me with fresh insight and renewed motivation to grow in my skills.

I'm not sure whether or not I'll do the texture challenge (I probably should) but either way, just wanted to say that I have gained so much from your course and from your critiques over the years and I want to thank you for all the hard work you put into making such an amazing and accessible resource to learning-from-home students like myself. You're awesome!

Wow. I feel overwhelmed by your feedback. In a good way. Thank you very much for your encouragement, criticisms and advice. It helps me a great deal, both practically and mentally, that you have suggested ways forward on my journey as an aspiring concept artist.

Just so you know, it took me 3 weeks to finish this challenge. I have a strange schedule because I am following the "Radiorunners Curriculum" which has your entire course split through it. Here's a link if you didn't already know about it: https://i.redd.it/7ns7su264gp31.png

In terms of design, I can't accept too much credit because for most of the chests I borrowed very heavily off reference images. Of course I didn't copy exactly and I changed things here and there but nevertheless I believe credit doesn't truly belong to me on this for the majority of the designs. This challenge however showed me how I can find inspiration and grow my own ability to invent good shapes and designs.

Anyway, I just wanted to really thank you for the care you put into your responses and into your course. It has made a very significant difference not only to my abilities as an artist but to my mindset about what it takes to be a serious artist, what it really means to succeed or fail and the importance of keeping the passion alive. :)

Ah that makes a lot of sense. Thank you! ^-^

Lol. No no, I am fully aware that the oculus (and in particular the controllers) is far superior to the vive having been an oculus user as well. How I ended up with a vive and losing my Rift is a long winded unfortunate series of events TT

Thank you for a very encouraging and thorough critique!(:

Rapid Viz

Rapid Viz

Rapid Viz is a book after mine own heart, and exists very much in the same spirit of the concepts that inspired Drawabox. It's all about getting your ideas down on the page, doing so quickly and clearly, so as to communicate them to others. These skills are not only critical in design, but also in the myriad of technical and STEM fields that can really benefit from having someone who can facilitate getting one person's idea across to another.

Where Drawabox focuses on developing underlying spatial thinking skills to help facilitate that kind of communication, Rapid Viz's quick and dirty approach can help students loosen up and really move past the irrelevant matters of being "perfect" or "correct", and focus instead on getting your ideas from your brain, onto the page, and into someone else's brain as efficiently as possible.
