    1. Deconstruct larger forms into smaller pieces, and then fit them together(beetle horns)

    2. Dont use cross hatching

    3. Focus on forms and texture

    4. Dont color in black areas, instead look for cast shadows

    5. Draw through your forms

Thanks for the advice! I'll remember these

Here are my extra 30 boxes. I really hope that I did a good job because I'm tired of drawing boxes lol.

Im gonna be honest, im a bit upset that Ill have to do more boxes because I really wanted to move onto the next lesson. I think my impatience got the best of me and ill make sure to draw these next 30 boxes to the best of my ability.

Thank you so much! I've been learing how to draw completely on my own for the past year, and I'm glad to be a part of a community like this one.

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
